Since I made an almost 80-minute-long composition broken up into little pieces, I thought I'd do another one, only this time about half-an-hour, and with lyrics. Mind you not very many, the poem is about a page long. So anyway, I present to you my newest ongoing musical project: Fred the Typewriter. Download part 1's MIDI (or sheet music if you know how to read and play it) and tell me what you think. http://www.atari2600...dthetypewriter/ My primary influence is Frank Zappa's "Billy the Mountain," which I have downloaded off YouTube in its entirety. I also have the "Just Another Band From LA" CD album, but it leaves about half of the song out, including the long instrumental near the end out. The whole thing is 40 minutes. I want to make mine about 30. So we'll see how well I do keeping up with writing music to go along with my poem. Part 1 does not have any lyrics. I wrote this in the bathroom with my keyboard. The introduction is supposed to sound like the beginning of something shown on PBS sometimes, you know, with all the weird notes. OK, you probably don't know what I'm talking about, but I remember stuff like that going to school in the early-mid '90s.
