I got it on April first and posted, "Man, it took Nintendo 25 years to launch a handheld system with the color Teal. It's about TIME!!! God!!! Too bad I can't buy one right now!!! FML!" on Facebook. So, if anyone read that and knows it an April fool's joke, then I have it. Isn't April Fool's day, opposite day?

The day before I brought this thing, I decided to look it up on the internet and read about it. I really love the Virtual Boy and it doesn't work now. I was really curious about the 3d effect and is the battery life on this system really that bad? The black screen of doom? AR cards? Yeah, I'm crazy, but I just had to get one. I'm glad I did.

First of all, this system feels like a 250 dollar handheld system, much like the PSP first model. It weigh almost the same. It feels like you're holding a piece of medal. Nintendo really went all out on this system and not feeling it been held back.

The AR cards surprised me and didn't think it would be like this? The ? game is just amazingly genius. It's just crazy how Nintendo programmed this game and make it works. The games are fun and interesting to play. You have to move the camera around the AR card to shoot a target, or hitting a steel ball into a hole. I'm looking forward for more cards to come out for this system.

The 3d screen is amazing. The screen refresh rate is very high and no noticeable ghosting. It is extremely colorful. The 3d effect really brings it to life. The wider top screen actually makes sense. Looking into the "window" narrows the dead spot and make it the same size as the bottom screen.

The graphic chip. There's actually texture shading on this system. The mountain textures in Pilotwing just said, look at me! I'm shiny and cool to look at! Sorry, that sounded corny, but it just neat too look at. The wide range of colors on screen really difference from the PSP which has to dither colors and under saturated in 3D games(meaning rasteried 3d games).

The battery life is almost over 5 hours at 4 brightness and wifi off. One great feature about this system, you can hit the home button and you can access the brightness menu during game. You can toggle wifi on or off. The cradle is painless to set the 3DS on. Usually I hate cradle, but this one is better designed.

In closing, I'm a sucker for 3D stuff and I loved the Magic Eye books and the red/cyan books back in the days. I have downloaded demoscene stuff that uses the 3d glasses. Avatar, I was blown away and enjoyed every second of the 3d and felt immense. I love the Virtual Boy, and it need to be fix in order for me to play Panic Bomber again. Maybe Nintendo can release Virtual Boy games on their upcoming service. Hopefully Panic Bomber is one of those games to get released. There's a LOT of potential built into this system. I really wished that Nintendo would open more development house around the world to produce more games for all their system, and there's a lot of talented people out there that would like to work with Nintendo. Nintendo is strict, but their guidence can help with developing fun and enjoyable games. Well, there's that 3ds store coming soon. Hopefully the store is actually navigational and useful to buy dd game. I still have the DSiXL and that'll only have DD games built into that.

Btw, that White Knuckles, Ok Go 3d music video is awesome. You have to update the system update to see it.

My VB still works, but I do agree it would be slick if they converted the VB games for the 3DS.

Hmm... The top screen of the 3DS is 400x240, while the VirtualBoy was 384x224, so it's certainly possible from that standpoint. Controls might be a little trickier, depending on the game, as the VirtualBoy had dual D-pads.

I suspect if Nintendo doesn't the homebrew community will if/when the protection is broken.
