USB driver lost: stupid computer

Posted by Serguei2, 31 January 2012 · 253 views

Hi

I don't understand what it's just happened.

I used my USB hard disk this morning witout any problems but now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Windows Vista asks me to install an USB storage device. WHY?

USB storage device is supported since Windows 2000. I found that in the USB Hard disk manual.

So WHY Win Vista asks me to install this driver when it is already installed?

Now I can't play my favorite games because of this problem.

I bought Vaio in 2009 and three years later, it begins to suck!!

Sorry if the picture is in French. French is my first language.

I turned off the hard disk and wait a little. Everything is working fine but still why Win Vista is looking for a driver?

Sounds stupid for me.

I have seen cases where Windows installs the same USB driver multiple times and it eventually stops recognizing the device. Deleting all of the devices from Device Manager will correct this problem, but as they aren't active they are hidden. See: http://www.vistax64....en-devices.html for instructions on revealing these hidden devices.
