    • Let me see if I can get this link to work.    This might be useful to you, KeyBits lets you see the keyboard/joystick interactions directly:     Sometimes you may want to scan a key or two directly from the keyboard in your software rather than going through the TI KSCAN routine.  This routine, that loads into cartridge ROM, is a quick and easy way to identify the key column and row that you can use for directly addressing the TMS9901.  Also see Thierry's page on the TI keyboard implementation for a good rundown on how it works.  Just another tool in the tool set.   And, yes, the columns are listed vertically and the rows are listed horizontally ?     KBCART.bin1.49 kB · 65 downloads KEYBITs.pdf555.88 kB · 73 downloads
    • [patch file for windows app 0.5.7 b] Unzip these 4 files directly on top of the extracted gspgames windows app version 0.5.7 (required). Select to replace those files if prompted. This includes a minor editing fix and the proper validation check for the 057b version of the runme (the 057b runme file is also included here). You should see "ver 0.5.7 b" in the upper-right corner after replacing the files.   gspgames-057b-patch.zip
    • It doesn't hide a copy, but it doesn't create a new one.    BTW: If you want to test your emulator for correctness, try the attached SI-11 ROM. You can shot the invaders individually or use left difficulty = A which randomly removes and adds them. SI-11 (230112)test.bin
    • There is still one thing that works strange...   When I want to reply to a topic I am reading, as soon as I login, a small part of the topic (the last 3-5 replies) disappear and a white space appears there instead. The reply window is also missing and I have to use the Firefox "back" button, then all replies appear again, the reply window appears and I can reply. (That "bug" is already there since several months and clearing the cache did not change it.)

    • Start with this disk image.  The DOS 3.3 System Master.  Insert this disk image into "drive 1" in AppeWin and boot the machine. Without booting into some sort of DOS you will not have any access to disk I/O.  Because it's the system master, it will load Integer Basic into upper memory's you can fiddle around with it, too if you want to horse around. The command "INT" puts you into Integer BASIC with its ">" prompt.  You can return to AppleSoft BASIC by using the command "FP" which will return you to the "]" prompt but also clears memory. https://mirrors.apple2.org.za/ftp.apple.asimov.net/images/masters/Apple DOS 3.3 January 1983.dsk   You'll need a blank disk image, too (although the system master might have a bit of free space on it). https://mirrors.apple2.org.za/ftp.apple.asimov.net/images/masters/emptyDSK_Dos33.zip   You can install that blank image in Drive 2 and when you want to save your program use the command "SAVE PROGRAMNAME,D2" and it will save to disk 2.
    • MAME 0.170 is from over 8 years ago back in Jan 2016.  There have been a significant number of layout, configuration, and input changes since then.   Your best bet, if still running into issues, is to start with a clean folder.    Go to a command prompt, change to your MAME folder, and run the command "mame -cc" (minus the quotes), or create a *.txt file enter a line that reads "mame -cc"  (minus quotes) and save the file.  Change the *.txt to *.bat and run the batch file.   Either method will create a brand new configuration file (mame.ini) to tweak all your settings.   Open the mame.ini file under Notepad, at the very least, ensure the ctrlpath is accurate pointing to where your xarcade.cfg file is located under "# CORE SEARCH PATH OPTIONS", and that "xarcade" is specified under "ctrl" within the "CORE INPUT OPTION" section.     If you have created a brand new configuration mame.ini file, all the "CORE INPUT AUTOMATIC ENABLE OPTIONS" should have by default "trackball_device" set to "keyboard".  The trackball under the XArcade behaves as a mouse, so this should read "mouse", if the default "keyboard" is not working.  It can also be issued at the command line for a specific game.   For example: mame.exe ccastles -trackball_device mouse The above will run Crystal Castles utilizing the device(s) that behaves as a mouse for its input controller.   P.S. If your system is distinguishing between two different mouse inputs for the mouse paired with your computer and the XArcade trackball *AND* you want them to be recognized separately in games (I.E. Player 1 utilizes computer mouse, Player 2 utilizes XArcade trackball that registers like a mouse), there is the 'multimouse' option under mame.ini that should be changed from 0 --> 1.  Ditto for a mapping one player to a keyboard and another player to the XArcade joystick/buttons, for those inputs to be treated as separate devices, there is a 'multikeyboard' option.
