      The short story: Paramount releases "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" on DVD.  It was apparently mastered by a summer intern using off-the-shelf software, resulting in progressive scans of interlaced sources, not de-interlaced and shit quality.  Two of the discs in the set are unreadable so I resort to alternate methods of acquisition.  I find someone has run the DS9 set through an AI up-scaler to produce a 720p collection in fantastic quality!

      Really, Paramount?  Would that have been so difficult for you to do and sell to us at the MSRP of $69.99?

      How would you classify this game?

      My thoughts:

      1. x=usr(1536)

        In some ways, it's reminiscent of the arcade game Hunchback.  Not totally the same, but there are similarities.

        Now that I think of it, I can't recall a version of Hunchback making it to the 2600, though just about every other platform from the time seemed to get one.  Hmm.
      2. Intellivision Master

        There is a homebrew called Hunchy 2 for the 2600.  Also, there is a 2600 multi-cart with mini games on it.  One of the games is Hunchy. Both the homebrew and the multi-cart are in the AA store.
      3. Living Room Arcade

        Hunchy in the 2005 Mini-Game Multi-Cart

        @batari released the ROM here.
        Hunchy is a 2k ROM that punches above it's weight IMO.  Good game!  There is also a hacked version here.

    • oh dang i was too absent minded to mention that i might wanna add Secret Quest to my library someday! what a klutz! But yes theres a lot of atari 2600 stuff that i feel is timeless, in the sense that they kinda have, what my generation might say is "Flash Game Energy" and those too are timeless, nothing can truly them for good, they'll always come around...
    • my pop pops was the only gamer in my immediate family, he had the SMS and the classic 6 switcher VCS , forget what games he had, might try to head over there near the fall if i can, too hot now...
    • oh yes, pacman 8k is a peak interest game and bank heist too! Demo Herby was a kind of surprise favorite, i almost disliked it at first because i was expecting something like... idk berzerk with cars??? or something odd like that but no it was a Amidar puzzler with a bit of vehicular mayhem sprinkled in, fun time! i love the little track that plays when you finish the maze in Pacman which is in 8k so yeah and bank heist brings back the old GTA loving kid in me, almost makes me wish i started this collection when i got that flashback as a kid... woulda saved lots a money... well nows tha time to at least  get the stuff i need.
    • Beat Your Score: Jawbreaker - 12,230 (Original score 12,080)
    • Crash just because of ET is a legend.   A set of factors caused the market to fall.   Two were very important, in my humble opinion: - The rise of PCs with rapidly falling costs, especially those from Commodore. - Many bad games and in the "more of the same" style.   Video games missed the point. Atari had executives who just wanted to make money and forgot that good games were needed (make no mistake, we are seeing something similar happen right now). Arcades advanced, as did computer games and this caused the console market to shrink. Warsaw keeps making this mea culpa, but you're far from to blame.
    • oh nice, i could wait, i just wanted to see if i could try it. No worries though i can wait especially if they can get Realsports Boxing working, i'm really into that game now too, and i'm sure we'll be able to get 100% compatibility with the original software sometime, i think it'll be awesome. i'm also really excited about some of the homebrew, but honestly even if we dont get full compatibility or if we do, i might get a 2600 jr in the near future as a spare 2600, but for most 2600 and all of 7800 i think i'm set on 2600+! (i just hope that my PC will be able to detect it via USB!) that was the issue i was most concerned about tbh, crossing my fingers that it wont be a probb But on some of the games i wanted, i would like to try some of Commando 7800 on my system as i think its awesome on 7800 emus, but not 200$ worth... so hope those atariage repros come back! but anyways i will keep checking in on here, got donkey kong recently and i'm expecting cali games soon, might wanna get chopper command but not sure and for homebrew Razors Edge is the most interesting to me
    • Dear community users..   On this 19yrs old page there is a post that catch my attention. https://comp.lang.pascal.misc.narkive.com/wAdzFpYY/sage-ii-sage-iv-stride-ucsd-p-system-computer     a***@netscape.net 19 years ago Permalink Stuart Bell wrote: <snip> Post by Stuart Bell Hope to use old Macs from the 1980s with terminal emulators as terminals to the Sage, eventually! In fact, the biggest 'issue' with the Sage will probably be getting a working serial cable - 20 years ago I could remember RS-232 pinouts, but it's all gone now! Cool! I used to do that with my PC as a terminal running UCSD Pascal on my TI-99/4A! Nice having the 80-column screen (the TI is 80-columns windowed over a 40 column screen). I once wanted to hook it all up so the outside world could dial-in and use the UCSD system on my machine...   Any idea how could be possible to di it?   Thanks!
