    • Same here Allan. What exciting times ahead for us. Everything is coming along quite nicely. Glad you came by to have a look on the latest progress of Fatal Fury:COTW brother man.    Anthony..
    • these did not load. I had only tested the classics before.
    • It's a neat version of the game. Good to see you were able to get it running fully. I have the DOS versions and could never get it functioning with my sound card(s) for sound effects, only music. I also tried the Windows version and it refused to run smooth (it was like, 3fps on a 2ghz Athlon, which makes me think there's some kind of incompatibility or glitch). I don't have a 486 or 386 setup, so in order to get it fully working I ended up using the 486 core on the MiSTer.   I do have complaints with the game. The web shading is pretty bog standard with none of the shifting/warping effects of the Jag game. The colors are also pretty muted in comparison (lower available color count, I'm guessing). Some of the physics are slightly off too and the enemy balancing is crazier later into the game. At the time a few years back I was on a quest to finish every Tempest 2000 version, but had to give up with the DOS one because the difficulty was through the roof.   Still, it was cool to have it on PCs at the time. I'm not sure if I'd really have a desire to go back to this version when a 60fps Jag version exists in packages like the Atari 50 and Jeff Minter collections, but it was solid enough for the time.    Raiden is an interesting one and the quality of it is going to depend on your setup. When I first played it in the '90s I was running it on a P166mhz based system. It never once slowed down (it was a tad speedy, but you got used to it). The sound effects are pretty awful and are nearly non-existent. You can have them running alongside the CD audio soundtrack, but for me I could barely hear them. The gameplay itself is okay if you can get it to run smoothly, and the remixed CD audio is pretty good IMO. The rest of the game is pretty disappointing though. There's zero added layers of background scrolling (i.e., no Stage 2 bridges/highways scrolling faster, adding a cool depth effect), no massive bomb explosion when you drop one (the screen just flashes white or something like that), etc. Being a big fan of the series (and especially the first game), I'd probably notice lots of other issues if I could get the damn thing running again, but I just haven't had any luck on either of my old PC setups. Couldn't get it functioning right on the MiSTer either, so one day I might resort to DOSbox and see what the results are. I believe they both include the DOS version. The updated one by Interplay should have the Windows '95 version as well.
    • I'd be concerned about the electrical noise those cheap supplies put out. There have been multiple attempts at adapting similar supplies in the past with mixed results.   I would personally recommend one of two solutions. First, the colusb, but I'm pretty sure it isn't in stock (and hasn't been for quite some time). The other one is a 2 piece solution. This adapter:   https://lundyelectronics.com/product/colecovision-power-supply-adapter/   and the matching meanwell psu brick (from a reputable dealer like Digikey or mouser). It's probably going to run around $60-70 all together with shipping. But it's been tested by multiple people to be noise free.   A company called Keelog also makes one. It seems to be solid, but the cable is a little short, and some of the soldering inside may be questionable from what I have read here on AA. But it does use a reputable meanwell supply inside.

    • @82-T/A It's a fine line to walk answering that question, if not for the fact here people can't get all political and sassy about it.  It's basically what even now the independent and  normal/moderate left are now aggravated at too (not just the right) which is called out as social justice/woke antics.  It's a cry for attention to try and normalize abnormal stuff and going about it in such a way it's so in your business that you just finally get numb, used to it, and just well accept it.  And that's why a growing amount of people are just getting aggravated, turned off, if not in outright revolt over it because some people take a bit to push too far, others take work, and now it's into others territory.  There was no thinking other than than to acclamate people into freaky strange stuff to basically score social points.   I would like to think a lot of people would rather just be left alone and let those who do the different stuff stay out of their face and keep their business their business as others do.  Getting forceful just creates aggravation and push back.  It's a slow creep of seeming stupid vicious selfish behavior that's infecting all sorts of media and worse so, classic media that's still kept alive in the modern era.  Off the top of my head pissing people off these days a lot: Star Wars, Disney in general, Velma cartoon, (now) Baldur's Gate 3, a number of other games too, tainting the social norms of one societies media for the crank stuff here (like anime, oh now they're all ____ and always have been ____)...nope, just nope.
    • ok, put another square of tape on it, and it fixed it... for another week lol.... i'm done with this and just hooked a less authentic and more confusing (since it doesn't match the on screen button indicators) usb gamepad, but hey, at least it works. to make this right they need to figure out what the problem is, and offer to send a new joystick to everyone with a bad joystick. this is so sad, because otherwise the product is pretty solid and very well done
