Job interview tonight. I haven't had to take a second job since 2020 (when I first started at the company I am at right now.) Will do this as long as I have to. Shouldn't be too bad considering it's not too intensive and I have plenty of free time to be able to take a second job

not sure what country you live in but you can blame it on dumb****s who abuse medication. it's funny they'll tighten up regulations and make you jump through a million hoops but other objects that help facilitate death. not sure what those objects would be, you would have to use your imagination of course.

    • Confirmed, no issue with either joystick port (using a Gemini controller works fine).  At this point, it's either a faulty 8bitdo dongle (or changed FW to disable the atari workaround?) or I've missed something about their compatibility/usage.
    • I will state right now that 10 years ago I didn't have any issues burning such 'backups' for my Saturn and DC. But that changed a few years ago because as it turns out, you really have to burn the discs at as slow a speed as possible. A more recent example of this, is that I made like 4 or 5 coasters trying to burn wav files onto a CD for standard audio playback in my sega CD. The reason being that the game I was playing at that time, allowed you to use an audio CD for the OST vs FM sound and I wanted to get that working. No luck using about a half different burning software applications. I suspect the main issue is that my DVD burner is about 5 years old and the slowest speed it will burn at it is like 16x or something. As a result, the data doesn't seem to be getting made in a way that the SegaCD will accept. I finally had a buddy of mine out of state that still has a working 4x CD burner, burn the image onto a CD at 1x speed for me. And sure enough, that worked without any issue on the first try on my SegaCD.   Now, before you or someone says that I must not have specified the audio CD format properly, one of those coasters...is in my car right now playing the songs without issue as has my PC and a few other CD players. So the disc was burned to the right format, but the speed and perhaps quality of the CD being used just wasn't going to cut it for working on my older retro consoles anymore.    BTW...the .GDI format is the one for raw or uncompressed Dreamcast images designed to be burned on to actual GD-ROM discs. The Bin/Cue format along with IMG and others is for everything else pretty much. I know that the RHEA in my Saturn has mostly Bin/cue. I also have bin/cue on my MODE in my Dreamcast, but I also have a few .GDI images as well since again those tend to be uncompressed and not have items stripped out of the contents.
    • While re-re-reading the E/A manual, I was noticing this section on the Debugger, descended from TIBUG, and came upon this paragraph.   Causes the present VDP Read Data address to be displayed. The address can be altered by typing a new address and pressing ENTER. This procedure allows you to use the commands that access VDP to be used in the VDP library memory areas or any other VDP address space. The read and write addresses are >1000 apart. The default address is >8800. Note: At present, no alternate VDP memory spaces exist.   I can see alternate read/write address writing to a different bank of 16K VDP memory. I don't see a path forward in getting the VDP to change to another bank. I also, don't know what a VDP Library Memory is.  Can anyone fill out what TI was thinking about doing?
    • Isn't the software to convert it into IntelliVoice format still highly proprietary? One of the last guarded secrets, to the point that people have begun developing other techniques to play samples, solutions that don't require the custom hardware in the first place.
    • This reminds me of the original ColecoVision display kiosk used in department stores...   ~Ben
    • 320x192 - it's a default high resolution, but maximum Atari 8-bit horizontal resolution is 384 when wide playfield width is set (actually 352 pixels are visible) and maximum vertical resolution is 240 scan lines.
    • Other than the fact that I don't have a whole lot of time to play it, I think it's pretty awesome.
    • I don't know man, I am always careful about making sure I use the term envious rather than jealous, but I think in this case, I downright hate you! Hahaha...
    • Well, what I can tell you is that if you load up the 1.1 PAM on a 2port, then the checksum comes back invalid since it doesn't know what the 2port BIOS is. Not sure I've ever really paid attention to what is shown otherwise. I'm pretty sure though that on the 1.1 on a 4port, it just says it is rev 1.0 and the ROM test for it just comes back with an empty ready prompt indicating no issues. I've got both consoles of course that I could get out and check as I have both the 1.1 and 2.3 on dedicated cartridges.
    • here is a photo of mine using the exact same caps I sent you. they just have to be put in the board at the same time then soldered. but either way it will work fine.   Ken
