I absolutely love the label art on these two cartridges. It kind of gives me "hippie/black light" vibes. I might have to put these right next to my Jimi Hendrix poster 😜

There was a certain "zen" to coding ON the original 8-bit hardware (with key-click ON on an original 800), back in the very early 80s ... but between MADS, CA65, WUDSN and VSC w/ add-ins (inc. Wine and Altirra) ... things are MUCH faster and smoother ...

Time to decide what to write (my "Oregon Trail" dream still fresh-in-mind ...)

As good as WUDSN is ... Eclipse is still a cluster ...
      2. x=usr(1536)

Totally agreed re: the key click.  It drove my parents up the wall to the point where I had to unplug the speaker or face the potential confiscation of the machine until I figured out how to make it not wake them up at 3 a.m.

    • After more than a decade of bringing the Atari 2600 equipment I used to develop Piñata, I think it's time to give up the fantasy that I'll ever return to Atari 2600 homebrew development. It was a blast and I have everyone at AtariAge to thank for the assistance with feedback and development and to Albert for my short cartridge run.   I've been moving with the equipment I used for homebrew development and now I want to find it a good home. Atari 2600 Vadar system, several controllers both original and third party, a Harmony cartridge with memory card, an AtariVox and AtariVox USB interface, and an Atari Flashback Portable. The equipment is untested since I used it for development, but has been kept safely in this same tote, free from dust, water damage, or temperature extremes.   I'll pay for boxing and shipping, but I only ask that any interested party use the equipment for further Atari 2600 homebrew development, rather than buying the lot just for the VCS and tossing the development hardware.   Anyone interested?
    • tl;dr version: Telnet to the tipi, go to the directory you want the files in, should also have the create ti file headers turned on(?) option on the tipi, in that directory, do a git clone of the public repo. Move the source to a drive that is not the tipi. Compile. - tipi's doesn't allow for the creation of large program images like system-sys.   as @mizapf said, all this can be done from a pc running mame.   Also, no receipts, but I have the sense, your best bet is to copy large things like the mdos source tree with either gdm2k or clint's disk manager (make sure you have the one @InsaneMultitasker updated).   Good luck pilot!
    • This looks great, can't wait to give it a try.   I have to say I really like the title as it is!
    • this is the only PDF's I have, one is the Asgard ad and order form -- And the other is the manual which explains most of the new features and how the pop-cart stuff works -- the other changes are similar to Mechtronic XBII+ in regard to loading the "ApeSoft" graphics library, and previous fixes in their XB. 1993-asgard_xb3.pdf ExtendedBasic3.pdf
    • Hmm. I forgot about that "ini" switch, i guess its not in the drop-down menus! -- haha -- As I was able to load like 4 slots of groms 5 to 7 but only 1 slot of console groms. -- i will try that switch and see if i can get all 8 slots running with each with 8 different groms (well the main part the first 6k of console grom 0 should always be the same, otherwise you end up with lockups!   Only thing left to emulate the pop-cart would be to tie the rom pages to the banked console groms as well, with each block of 4 pages (32k) set to switch to the matching console rom, for how that works hardware see the tech pages on modding the 3 slot widget, the pop-cart basically did that for up to 8 slots, so you would have 256k of ROM >6000 but divided into 8 sections of 32k (4 pages), or if 16 slots then of course that would be 512k divided into 16 sections of 32k (4 pages). (when I publish the pop-cart source code, you will most likely understand better how it works)   of course i rather you win the lottery and buy some outside walls for v4.00 instead of patching v3. some more you going to run out of 999's soon, or we end up with v3.999999999999999901b at this rate!
    • Maybe a voltage issue. Have you tested a different 2600? has the 2600 you use a video mod?
    • some one turned off the TI99 console, and forgot to save the AI training data to cassette tape.   Has anyone tried AI on doing a TMS9900 Assembly program? or just TI Basic?
    • It may sound a bit convoluted, but as stated in the README, copy these files into a TIPI drive. You will then be able to use some file manager inside the emulation to copy them to the HD.   If you don't have a TIPI: If you have a spare Raspberry Pi, you can easily set up a TIPI with websocket access that can be used in MAME.
