Allas Posted July 7, 2008 Share Posted July 7, 2008 (edited) After working some months on a game, I think it's time to add the music theme. Well, I'm not just prepared to do correctly. Instead I know there are talented people on forum, so I create this post to do a little contest to get the appropriate music for the game. The music should be funny, I think on a music as "And your bird can sing" of Beatles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icdfIGOXIFI I add a MIDI file also: aybcs.zip Not necessary should be this music, but I have on mind a great conversion of this. The specs are: - Only 3 8-bit channels - RMT format - Not digitized effects, I'd prefer as little as can do. - Very funny tune I'll add the best work on my game and give the credits. machf Posted July 8, 2008 Share Posted July 8, 2008 Now that you mentioned music and MID files... several years ago (10 or more) I was examining the MIDI file format, I even wrote a program that could read the contents of a MIDI file and display all the info, but I never got to writing a MIDI player for the A8. It can be done, I remember there's a player some Polish guys made, but their site was in Polish only and I couldn't understand more than a couple of words. Heck, there's even a MIDI player for the PC speaker (source cod eincluded) - the A8 has 4 voices, it sure can do something better than that. If someone's interested in further looking into all that, I could look for all the data I gathered back then. Then you could eventually use regular MIDI files for your programs... Marius Posted July 11, 2008 Share Posted July 11, 2008 If you like i could make it in CMC. CMC is very easy to build in your own programs. It works with a player routine, and binary music data. You load this in a certain memory location. You make an initialisation in your program (i have documentation) and then you make a JSR PLAYER on every vertical blank. Piece of cake. About the game, is a game with animals, imagine a game as FLIP AND FLOP, so I think it's better circus music, funny music, ... lol.... now I remebner that music "Jozin z bazin", something like that. Well... i COULD make that... but since this is meant to be a game-song for Allas I don't want to release it as a XEX before he decided to use it in his game or not.
