Albert
RetroBlast! has posted an interview with Curt Vendel of the Legacy Engineering Group regarding his development of the Classic USB Joystick Controller. The USB Joystick Controller is styled after the Atari CX-40 joystick and can be used with your favorite game emulators in Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. In the interview Curt discusses Legacy Engineering, his personal history with classic gaming, development of the USB joystick, his role in the Flashback 2.0 console for Atari, and more. Curt Vendel has been active in the classic gaming community for many years, and maintains a wealth of Atari-related information over at the Atari History Museum. You can read the complete interview here and read RetroBlast!'s review of the joystick here.

Curt Vendel
Hi All, For anyone trying to reach me, if I don't get back to you immediately, please be patient. I'm am a guest at the hotel "NYU Medical Center" once again. For those who are not aware I've been having an on-going battle with issues with my heart. I've already had 2 open heart surgeries this past summer. Unfortunately I've been re-admitted back to the hospital once again with some minor complications and possibly another surgery this coming weekend. Thank God for free wireless in the hospital. I'm in the Tisch wing over on 34th & 1st if anyone wants to visit Regards, Curt Edited January 8, 2009 by Curt Vendel

MCHufnagel
Curt, Sorry to here about you being re-admitted to the hospital. I like the look of the new controller! I've wondered in the past why a retro usb controller wasn't available. Is this product going to be available in B & M stores too?
Warriorisabouttodie
I'm so sorry to hear that you are in the hospital. I really love the Flashback 2. One thing I don't understand about this article. Curt says the Flashback 3 was going to be some type of ipod/2600 device. That sounds interesting, but I thought the Flashback 3 was going to be based on Atari 800/xl/xe technology? I remember being really psyched that such a thing (a new 8 bit Atari of sorts) was going to be released, how did that project fit in? Was it just a rumour? Retro Rogue
For those who are not aware I've been having an on-going battle with issues with my heart. Curt's heart was overloaded with Atari love, and couldn't handle any more. He tried to pack a little more in, but everyone has their limits.
