I've secured another stack of donors, in case anyone else is interested in a set. :)

What are "donors"? 7800 carts of common games?

7800 carts yes, but for these games you have to use uncommon and mid-rare titles to get the ram on the boards that is needed. Otherwise you have to order ram, remove more chips form the alternate donor board and the cost goes up even more due to the extra time involved and cost of the ram.

Ouch, i see. Is it really worth it tho if they are mid rare?

Which in this case it's the latter, hence the price tag of $35.00. It is very time consuming and buying the RAM isn't exactly cheap either, after shipping cost is added. I am not a huge fan of killing the uncommon games that already have the right type of RAM, unless they look like crap or I come across them by chance.

Maybe some talented individual could design a new board for games like Plutos and Sirius. :ponder:

What the heck ever happened to Bruce's cart design that was suppose to support a whole bunch of different cart sizes?

He had the same issue I am having, the timing on the RAM is weird for certain games when you are using a PLD.

You could always repro the original board. :ponder: :D

Probably be the best idea cause all the logic is cheap off the shelf stuff. Just add the extra addy lines for 32 pin chips of course

Do these work on a PAL 7800?

Yes they do. When I fixed the binaries to work on an EPROM cart, I also included a PAL/NTSC test that adds a couple of scanlines at the top and bottom on PAL consoles to generate a stable and centered display. Of course the games will run a little slower on PAL. But considering how difficult Sirius is that isn't nessessarily a bad thing. ;) The colours weren't changed either. But for abstract space shooters that shouldn't be much of a problem. Except for a slight green touch the PAL palette is the same as the NTSC palette anyway.

Do you have any detailed information on this?
