Items for Atari 2600 manufactured in Brazil

Recommended Posts

Sr. Ferraz,

I've added all the new titles from your previous posts now.

I really appreciate the exact spelling of the titles.

Maybe it's a good idea to mention the new found titles also in your new post.

This way I don't have to go through all the old posts again.

Thanks again!

My comments:

Jo-game - that is a manu I've never seen. Really cool and I love that holo label. Woo! There are at least 5 manus/cart types I haven't seen before in this post.

4 in 1 Dactar porn - that's a combo I've never seen. :lust:

Supercharger stuff- anyone try playing the Canal 3 or Splice tapes on a modded Supercharger?

Some of that Tron stuff I've never seen. That Basic cart is really crazy.

Ohhh those ads and controller pics are great. They'll help me keep my random joysticks with the consoles they were sold with. Sometimes those get separated.

This is the post that should be a web site. Those pix are fantastic. Does AA keep them indefinitely? Or are they being added to the database in their entirity?

Are there any lists of what the Brazilian manus made? Complete as you can find lists of what is available? Especially interested in the big makers like Polyvox, CCE, Dactar, and then Tron, Digivision, Dynacom, Mania, JP, JVP, Shock, Imagic Brazil, Tigervision, Cosmovision...

Did anyone else notice the 'Air Raid' Cosmovision cart? Is that Air Raiders or is it the first evidence of Air Raid by Menavision in Brazil?

Great work, but I say make a website. Excellent scans and pix! You must have a little photo studio for this.

Dear friend Rik,

I am happy that you liked, I go to place plus many items.

Brazil had many companies who manufactured items for Atari 2600 and other consoles.

The greaters were Polyvox (Atari); CCE (Atari, NES & old computers); Milmar (with Dactar cartridges, consoles and others for Atari, NES); Dynacom (Atari, NES, various joysticks); Philips (Odyssey); Mattel (Intellivision); Tec Toy (Master System, Mega Drive, handheld game, Game Gear); Microdigital (Atari and old computers) and many others.

The company "Gradiente" bought the "Polyvox" and also manufactured other items for NES, 64, Phantom System & old computers (MSX).

They were many manufacturers of cartridges for Atari 2600 with many different names and labels. These small or great manufacturers had excellent ideas and new features.

The cartridges manufactured in Brazil normally were NTSC because the consoles were NTSC with small alterations ( transcoder NTSC >> PALM).

The Brazilian industry manufactured many items for our Atari 2600.

Dear friend Ianoid,

Thank you for the fine words, I go to still place here many items.

The three models of 'Supercharger' are not compatible, already I tested and they do not work with the game of another one.

"Air Raid" cart. by 'Cosmovision' has the game "Air Raiders" as I informed.

I go to place more joysticks, instructions and consoles.

I wait that this topic does not disappear because I'm placing here many information, photos and scans so that all can see and know. (hours working...)

The site 'Atarimania' has a great amount of carts manufactured here in Brazil.

Excellent week !

I liking to collect cartridges of some manufacturers and with label variations. I also have various carts from U.S.A. in my collection.

** Manufacturer "JVP" has a great variety of games and labels. The cartridges have of one up to sixteen games.

In many games appears in the image from TV the name 'JVP', some times with the year (1984, 85) and name of game.

The manuals (instructions) are simple, the small boxes are made of paper or plastic(case). In some carts end label is silver, in other gray or white.

Three labels I made because they were bad. (gray)

This manufacturer has cartridges with sixteen games where the selection of the game is made in the button "Game Select". The image from TV with the name of the game modifies. After 'choosing' the game the beginning is with the button "Game Reset". Excellent idea. To return the menu: off / on the console (power).

I have a cartridge with end label damaged, the name that appears is 'Preppie'. (I don't know if is complete)

The cartridges "Pac Man" and "Space Invader" I have since new (1984). Some carts with four games has one behind label.

I must say I really like this collection of carts. Their labels really stand out and (to me) would be quite collectable. What game is Donald Duck? Tenis looks like it has artwork for Jungle Hunt. What is the identity of these games?

Tenis = Tennis from Activision

Donald Duck = Donald Duck's Speedboat from Atari

Sr. Ferraz,

Thanks again!

Is Bob Is Going Home the correct title?

Hello my friends Omegamatrix & Rom,

I placed the original names now. ( )

I saw a cartridge with this name in an auction here in Brazil. (Bob is going Home).

In another cartridge it is "Boby" and in the image of the TV of another one it's "Bobby". (see images and scans)

Another variation: Keystone Kappers, Keystone Kapears (*Keystone Kapers)

I'm convinced some of these firms (if that's what they were, some may have been small (rental) clubs and one-person "companies") came up with new names on a weekly basis, or maybe their "labelmaker" would coin some new names after a night on the town or Carnaval.

Cheers,

Marco

One thing has always puzzled me. How did Brazil get its hands on Donald Ducks Speedboat Race when it was never released anywhere else? ;)

Fox,

It looks like all companies except Atari released Donald Duck Speedboat:

http://www.atarimania.com/lst_soft.php?SOF...D=&Page=1&OK=OK

That reminds me of the unknown CCE ROMS floating around:

Alien

Aquaventure (Proto!)

Barnstorming

Berzerk

Corrida da Matematica (Math Gran Prix)

Cosmic Commuter

Cubo Magico (Cubicolor!)

Defender

Demons to Diamonds

Dolphin

Double Dragon (PAL ROM!)

E.T. - The Extra-Terrestrial

Fishing Derby

Freeway

Frostbite

Galaxian

Gravitar

H.E.R.O.

Ice Hockey

Kaboom!

Krull

Kung Fu Master

Laser Blast

Moto Laser (Mega Force)

My Golf (PAL ROM!)

Nightmare

Oink!

Plaque Attack

Pressure Cooker

Private Eye

Resgate Espacial (Moonsweeper)

Road Runner

Sea Hawk

Sea Hunt

Sky Jinks

Snoopy and the Red Baron

Super Baseball (RealSports Baseball)

Super Box (RealSport Boxing)

Super Futebol (RealSports Football)

Super Futebol (RealSports Soccer)

Super Voleyball (RealSports Volleyball)

Vanguard

Video Cube (Atari Video Cube)

Xevious (Proto!)

Where did they come from and who dumped them?

I just can't believe they're all unknown CCE Gold Label titles from the C-10xx Series.

Perhaps they come from some brazilian CCE multi-game cart or console?

Dear friend TomBrazil,

Impressive (striking)! Finally you placed here something of your collection for appreciation of all.

Scans are welcome !

Thank you for your contribution.

That's ok Ferraz, I didn't post before because most people here know the carts I have from my collection pictures (link in my signature). I have many new carts, but when I'll have the proper time to update those pictures, is another story :)

That is a very good point Rom about Donald Duck :D As for Cubo magico that does exist. I was offered one a couple of years ago by a good friend who was selling his collection but turned it down for at the time I was foolishly not interested in games with a foreign title. I truly regret it now :x I wonder if there version of Xevious is any more complete than the ones that have turned up so far? ;)

I seriously doubt the existence of any of those CCE titles, even if Fox was offered one (I've been offered dozens of non-existing games over the years). My bet is that those ROMs were simply made by an enthusiastic Brazilian collector who renamed the ROMs he found on the internet.

Marco

My friends,

In my opinion, the Brazilian programmers had been fast and had made this same game being one prototype. (new game > > more sale)

Rom,

The game with the name "Bob is Going Home" I saw here in an auction in Brazil. The game with the name "Bobby" don't have label but appears this name in the TV. The game with the name "Boby" is one that I have with four games as is in the images of the photo and scan.

I have two cartridges from CCE with the game "Robot Attack" (C-866) but are with defect. The cartridge with the game "Football" (C-854) does not appear the name from CCE in the screen of TV. (see below)

TomBrazil,

I know that you are a man with very work in your company. When you will have some time to contribute I will be grateful.

If you will have condition to place some images of scanner would be interesting. :)

Dear Rom,

I placed below a listing of all (?) the cartridges manufactured from CCE. With the indication (*) they had not been confirmed.

The CCE manufactured cartridges with some types of label.

This list was made by my friend Leandro. (excellent work)

I placed below one 'link' for a page that informs about the cartridges from CCE and if they are confirmed or not. (incomplete list)

If the page not to appear "copies" with mouse and "places" in the address in the superior part of the Internet Explorer.

*The manufacturer "MaxGames" also manufactured a cart with the game "Donald Duck's Speed Boat" with the name "Donald Duck's". (See below the image from TV)

I go to place here the cartridges from manufacturer "MaxGames" this week.

I saw the game in question. It was in a CCE cart but the picture label was torn and what was left was pretty cruddy and only the end label was readable. It could have been pirated as Marco said by a Brazillian hacker or collector, I dont know. All I know is that I stupidly turned down the chance to possess it :(

Thanks for the info, Sr. Ferraz.

I'm still looking for the true identity of CCE's Robot Attack.

DP states that it's an CCE original, but I don't believe in CCE originals.

I think it's the same game as Robot Fight from Home Vision (or Space Robot from Dimax / Sinmax).

*** I added various names of games and some images in the previous manufacturers:

- "Video Jogo" gold label (page 1)

- "Digivision", "VGS" (page 2)

- "J.F.", "Zirok" (page 3)

- "Video Tiger" (page 4)

- "Pop", "LBZ", "VideoMac" (page 6)

- "Shock Vision", "Imagic" (page 7)

>> Before the names of the games that I added it has two 'arrows' (normally has one).

* The cartridge with name "Rainbow Software" was manufactured for the company "Divertil Comercial de Brinquedos Ltda" here in Rio De Janeiro.

My cartridge is with defect ( :_( ) but I know that the selection of the game is made in the screen of the TV through joystick and the fire button.

Games:

> Batlezone / Chuck Norris / Galaxian / Gremlins / Hero / Mickey / Motocross / Phoenix / Private Eyes / Robot Tank / Smurf / Solar Fox / Star Trek / Super Soccer / Time Pilot (15 in 1)

* The cart. with name "Cartucho Programa" has identical plastic box to the one of the manufacturer "Game Program", "Atari" and "Polyvox".

Label seems to be made of a type of aluminum.

The manufacturer used the same number of code in the games used for the manufacturer "Game Program" in these cartridges. (CX)

It was sold in Brazil with the console manufactured by "Atari Eletronica Ltda", the console had paddles and joysticks.

I put below the image of two manuals (instructions).

Games:

> Batalha Aerea e Naval (* Air Sea Battle - CX-2602)

> Combate (* Combat - CX-2601)

> Corrida de Carros (* Street Racer - CX-2612)

> Indianapolis (* Indy 500 - CX-2611)

>> Invasores do Espaço (* Space Invaders - CX-2632)

> Olimpicos (* Video Olympics - CX-2621)

>> Xadrez (* Video Chess - CX-2645)

* In the cart. with name "Game Show" seems that this store rented (or sale) cartridges and placed label of it in the the original of the manufacturer. (changed)

Games:

> Volleyball
