Trebor
So how does beef drop look in mess? There was an altered pallette that was put in the xbox 7800 emu that fixed the blue really being green problem, but then beef drop was completely messed up. Yeah, that same mess up is evident if you look at Dig Dug too. However, I still thought it was an improvement overall for the majority of the games. That palette is the one based off of the Stella colors (Palette was named new_Stella_NTSC). Fortunately and thankfully, Nabuko78 has generated/created this palette which fixes and works with all colors/hues for all the titles. Hopefully, Mitch's submission to MESS dev will be approved. I can hardly wait! -Trebor
Trebor
The only way to get that palette working on MESS is by... hacking it! Didn't mentioned that? also I hacked today colors for colecovision and arcadia 2001 in MESS and worked as well as 5200 / 7800. Is it possible for you to post to this thread the file(s) you hacked/edited to obtain the better palette for the Atari 7800 emulation? I would really appreciate it. -Trebor
Danno
Better yet, just compile it and post the compiled Binary, so those of us who haven't updated our compile environments don't have to chase down a million updates to mingw etc.

+Mitch
The new palette is now in the MESS source. It looks like I'll have to do some more testing though since Nabuko78 posted an updated version. Mitch
Trebor
The new palette is now in the MESS source. OUTSTANDING!!! I cannot wait for the next MESS release! This is the best thing to happen for Atari 7800 emulation progress in a long time. Thank you, Mitch! And of course a *huge* thanks to Nabuko78 for sharing his talents (And palettes...lol) with the community! -Trebor
