Red 5
ONLY TWO LEFT FOR A WHILE. WE ARE GOING TO HOLD OFF UNTIL (IF) WE BUILD UP SOME MORE ORDERS THE LAST TWO (not including the one on EBAY) ARE ASSEMBLED AND WE WILL SELL THEM FOR $375 EACH INCLUDING SHIPPING TO THE US (more to Canada, Alaska, Hawaii) Here are pics of assembled and unassembled. Holds 200 carts (unless you want to stand a few up.) The pricing is as follows: PRICE INCLUDES SHIPPING TO THE U.S. (LOWER 48) (SHIPPING WILL BE MORE TO CANADA, ALASKA, HAWAII) Unassembled (put it together yourself) - Holds 200 Carts: Just like you would buy at the store. All the nail holes are pre-drilled. Incredibly easy to put together. Instructions are included. 200 slats / shelves are included and all slide in and out to make any kind of shelves you want. IT IS NOT STAINED. Everything is included to put it together. Even the nails for the backboard. The only thing you will need to purchase is wood glue for extra support. There is a difference between this one and the assembled one. The assembled version has one solid piece as the back board. The Unassembled one has three pieces for the back board so you will have two seams. Price: None left right now Assembled - Holds 200 carts: Same as above, but put together for you. One solid backboard. Still not stained though. Price $375 (Only for last two. Prices may go back up if or when we make more) I will post pictures later. They are exactly the same as the pictures below, but half the height. (Same length.) ----------------------------- The Story: If you are bored and want to read an interesting story, please read on. Or, just scroll down and look at the pictures and let me know if you want one. I will let you know up front that these are not cheap. Not even close to cheap. This is some serious furniture to make your collection look damn good. Everything was created in MasterCam and is machine cut on an Aciera. Every cut is precision made. Eveything fits together absolutely perfectly. Now for the long long story... A while back there was a thread about how we organize our collections... http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=100755 jayboypacman asked me about the shelf that holds my M-Network games. I rambled on (kind of like now) about how I got it and where it came from. I have been wanting to make a enourmous one that holds 800 games since I saw it. Well... that is exactly what happened. After that thread I brought it up to my Father-In-Law who owns a machine shop. I told him about it and before I knew it, he had it in MasterCam and a prototype built that held 200. (Still in the shop if you are interested.) Here is the unfinished prototype... Cutting 800 (yes 800) tiles for shelves wasn't exactly a fun chore as these were measured out and cut by hand. The hardware to drill it into the wall was machined there as well. You can hang it on studs or just drill into studs to support it so it won't fall over. It is a lot lighter than it looks. We used Clear White Pine for mine. No knots. Really pretty. Find the studs and get screwin' ! Two were built and stained. They each hold 400. The best part is each shelf is removable. Pull out 3 shelves and you can stand a cart up to show it off. Nice for cool labels and rarities or just favorite games. Putting in every shelf took about an hour and a half. (That was with my wife and I doing it together.) Getting there... I left spaces for games I don't have yet (YET!) so I don't have to reshuffle every freakin' game again. So here it is... I have 475 2600 games right now with room to grow. 7800 games are in there as well. Here is the newly finished game room ! ! ! Now that the tooling has been completed, it will be a lot easier to make more of these. The problem is the size of mine. That is some serious work because the machine is only so big. Indexing had to be used to get the cut right. In other words, if you want one like mine (I have 2 that hold 400 carts each) it CAN be done, but get ready to pay one hell of a lot of cash. However, if you want one to hold 100 or 200, that can be done. It can be done with the clear white pine, this is nice, real high quality wood but, it can also be done with cheaper material as well to cut down on cost. We are also thinking of doing this for NES games as well if anyone is interested. PM me if you are interested in having one built. I have had mine for 24 hours now and I keep going to the basement and smiling. Edited February 25, 2007 by therealred5

Chickybaby
Fuck me, that's awesome. (don't tempt me... it could be done... ) I don't want to know what you two do in your free time nor do we need visuals. *clearing throat* Back on topic... Those shelves are so beautiful! If you could make a more universal size that could hold everything from say Atari to Genesis, SNES, NES sized carts ... wow. We've got so many systems that having games like that would be just what we need! I could definitely seeing a buisness making this stuff if the prices could be brought down. I know once things are settled here we'd go for those in a heartbeat since I would rather our stuff be easily accesible and off the floors. Granted it's a niche market but they're awesome. ntavio
Very cool. Very useful now that cassette racks are a thing of the past. A universal cart rack would be even better.
