Definately Dock Man, with Kram a close second.

Why not pick Birdie King like everyone else? I am not a fan of golf (other than mini golf) and we already have Golf game/s for the 2600.

I think I asked this before, but Taito must be your favorite game company?

I wonder if Mr. TNT could be done from Sanchez/Telco. That game rocks!

In the early arcade years they are indeed my favourites, with Namco coming close. In later years Konami and Capcom surpassed them both though :)

And here's an Alpine Ski screenshot:

I played all of them in MAME (except Jolly Jogger, couldn't find a ROM nor is it at KLOV...:?)

Marine Date - certainly doable, though it doesn't really excite me unless it supported a trackball.

Space Cruiser - meh. Doable, but the 2600 has plenty of shooters. It has some neat twists, but nothing too exciting.

Space Seeker - interesting. Fairly difficult to do this, I think - a lot of challenges, from the giant map to the side-scrolling shooting. I don't think the game is compelling enough to be worth that work.

Alpine Ski - this doesn't seem different enough from Skiing to be worth doing.

Birdie King - kinda cool, and the 2600 could use an additional/better golf game. But full-screen bitmaps just aren't the 2600s strength, plus you need to support a trackball...

Dock Man - this game is really cool, and is probably doable. Lots of vertical separation, which is good.

Electric Yo-Yo - just don't like this game that much.

Jolly Jogger - ?

Kram - this is pretty cool, but I think almost undoable. Need a Pengo-style playfield plus a billion sprites. Seems unlikely. :ponder:

Space Dungeon - I like this game and it would be completely possible on the 2600: simple backgrounds plus a not-unreasonable number of sprites.

My vote is for Dock Man, a unique, fun game that would be possible.

2nd place is Space Dungeon. :)

If you're doing good enough, you can ski jump in the third round ;)

I agree.

Jolly Jogger - ?

It plays very much like Amidar, though it has much more and smaller boxes per screen.

I pretty much agree with your analysis, only I'd probably place Alpine Ski between the two :)

Had a thought about that... I wonder if your RPG engine could be adapted to make a golf game?

Possibly...actually, that might be kinda cool. :ponder: Could load holes off of tape. Hmmmm.

Anyway, it supports two sprites plus the scrolling, tiled background, so sure.
