Imagine you are surrounded.

Imagine the enemy is invisible.

Except for just a little glimpse...if you blink you might miss it. But if you watch, you'll notice the enemies appear and disappear in patterns. If you think fast on your feet, you may be able to survive just a little longer...

But they're coming closer, all the time, and just one touch can kill...

Sorry. I hope I'm not offending anyone by coming up with these ideas, not being a programmer and all. It's just insanely fun to try to come up with new game designs for the older systems...

Who says the 2600 can't do Gauntlet/Robotron style games?

I had to get it out of my system.

You can throw bricks at me now, if you wish.

Why stop at a simple, small, brick? :D

Chuck Norris Superkicks and Wizard of Wor did this. Well, Chuck Norris did, anyway. As you fight ninjas in the final section of the game, they flicker in and out, making them more difficult to battle. As if they weren't already hard enough to fight with the game's crappy control!

Er... anyway. Wizard of Wor used a play mechanic that made the monsters vanish when they weren't in the same column or row as yourself. You had to rely on the radar to track them down and blast them, adding a fun dimension to the gameplay.
