Fletch
I have 4 1050's and 3 of them have pretty much ceased reading disks. I've used the standard disk cleaning kit on all of them, but even that no longer seems to help. Any suggestions on keeping them running or should I assume that age has finally caught up with the old beasts? BTW, my 810's still kepp chugging along with next to no maintenance at all. classics
Take a foam swab, dip it in a little rubbing alcohol and use that to clean the read/write head until there is no debris left clinging to it. Be sure to let it dry completely (it shouldn't take long) before inserting a disk and be careful not to get any on the felt pad. Fletch
Steve, I took your advice and all of the 1050's seem to be functioning just fine. Thank you for the easy fix!
