cimerians
Anyone here list their favorite C64 game(s)? Also, do you use emulation or the real thing? I currently have them on my Xbox. I've been thinking about hooking up the real thing but the load times are brutal...... I've been madly playing the following lately: Beach Head Trolls & Tribulations Pogo Joe Aliens Goonies Anyone ever finish Rambo 2? Seems that was the hardest game ever made.....that damn helicopter if anyone recalls.
crunchysuperman
No emulation - I have a Jiffy-DOS'd SX-64 standing by in the closet, so that's simple enough to hook up when I need a fix. Times of Lore Legacy of the Ancients Legend of Blacksilver World Championship Karate Bruce Lee Dino Eggs Good times!
cimerians
Argh! You have a Jiffy box! **drools** Legend of Blacksilver. I finished LOTA but never tried its "sequel". I really need to play it sometime. Dino Eggs! (one of my other favorites) Ahhh...very good times.

aftermac
It's been a long time, but two games that I recall playing a lot are Hover Bovver and Summer Games.
Prodos8
Commando Goonies - I used to play for hours with one of my brother's friends. Archon - Once I was one hit away from beating my friend's dragon with a knight on a dark power square (to caputure them all) and lost. I yelled *@&$! so loud I was grounded for a week. Elite Exodus: Ultima III - I usually played on the A2 but a friend gave me a bootleg copy and I liked the additional colors - not the slow loads though. Raid on Bungleling Bay Human Race - This was a budget title and very hard my brother and I spent a couple of days just trying to get past the second level. Mastertronic made some really great games for the money, but they were some of the hardest games I've ever played gave up on in my life! iratanam
Activision's Ghostbuster's for me has to top the list of my Fav C-64/128 game, I thought it was the best on the C-64 than any other system. also: #2. Park Patrol (another Activison title) #3. Infocom's Text Adventures esp. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy #4. Stroker 64 #5. BydoEmpire
Trolls & TribulationsWow, this just made my day. I LOOOOOVED that game, but I long since lost the disk. I've never heard anyone else who even KNEW about this game, let alone liked it. It's really hard to pick a single favorite, so I'll list a few that I remember clearly loving: Kane Raid Over Moscow Beach Head Summer/Winter/World/California Games Jumpman, Jumpman Jr. Temple of Apshai Trolls & Tribulations The Bard's Tale Racing Destruction Set Bruce Lee Archon But, if I really had to pick just one, I'd go with: Stuart Smith's Adventure Construction Kit I spent SO much time with that. Really ahead of it's time.

+Random Terrain
I used to have a VIC-20 and a Commodore 64, but now I use emulation. Here are some of my favorite Commodore 64 games: Toy Bizarre http://www.gb64.com/oldsite/gameofweek/top..._toybizarre.htm Most played game at my house in the mid 1980s. Serpentine http://www.lemon64.com/games/details.php?ID=2265 Eat the eggs. Eat the frogs. Eat the back ends of other snakes until they are smaller than you and then you can eat them head on. Oh yeah, protect your eggs and try not to get eaten. First played this on an Apple computer at an Apple computer store. Park Patrol http://www.lemon64.com/games/details.php?ID=1892 Another one of my favorite games. Strange and fun game with cool water sparkles behind the boat when you are on the water. Mr. Do http://screenmania.retrogames.com/c64/03/c64_0071.html Fun game that was also played a lot at my house. Impossible Mission http://www.gb64.com/oldsite/gameofweek/top...iblemission.htm Don't like some of the perfect timing parts of the game, but it is fun exploring, searching objects, and putting the pieces together. Leaderboard Golf http://screenmania.retrogames.com/c64/03/c64_0075.html The first game after Golf for the Atari 2600 that showed me that some modern computer sports games might really be fun if done right. The bowling game they did later on wasn't as fun. I was disappointed because I was looking forward to it after reading so much about it in magazines. California Games http://www.lemon64.com/games/details.php?ID=407 http://screenmania.retrogames.com/c64/01/c64_0029.html I only liked the surfing part of this game. It was one of the most fun parts of a game I ever played. Boulderdash http://www.lemon64.com/games/details.php?ID=349 This game should be on every list. I don't like it when it starts getting too hard, but it's fun up to that point. Beach-Head http://www.bhlegend.com/php/show.php3?game=702 http://screenmania.retrogames.com/c64/01/c64_0001.html I loved the part where you shoot down planes. Next time I played a game with a similar feeling to shooting down those planes was when I got Crimson Skies for the Xbox. Raid Over Moscow http://www.lemon64.com/games/details.php?ID=2074 http://screenmania.retrogames.com/c64/01/c64_0031_3.html I only like a couple of screens. Mostly the one with big building. Lode Runner http://screenmania.retrogames.com/c64/01/c64_0017.html Lode Runner was fun, but I liked Jumpman Jr. better back then. Now it's switched and I like Lode Runner better. Jumpman Jr. http://screenmania.retrogames.com/c64/01/c64_0027.html I played Jumpman Jr. a lot in 1985, but I can barely stand the game today. Nice to hear the music again since it brings back memories, so I play it once in a while. Archon http://www.lemon64.com/games/details.php?ID=136 http://screenmania.retrogames.com/c64/03/c64_0052.html The fighting can get boring, but it's still worth playing once in a while. Too bad the fighting screens were so plain and ugly. Gyruss http://www.gb64.com/oldsite/gameofweek/3/a...gotw_gyruss.htm I liked it much better than the NES version I played later. Zenji http://www.lemon64.com/games/details.php?ID=2937 I thought I wouldn't like it at the time, but I did. Pretty fun. Little Computer People http://www.lemon64.com/games/details.php?ID=1525 http://screenmania.retrogames.com/c64/01/c64_0025.html I was kind of disappointed in it since it wasn't as advanced as I hoped it would be, but it was probably still worth the money though. Ghostbusters http://www.gb64.com/oldsite/gameofweek/top...hostbusters.htm http://www.lemon64.com/index.php?mainurl=h...D105%26name%3DT http://screenmania.retrogames.com/c64/01/c64_0021.html I liked it for a short time. Worth playing at least a couple of times. Much better than the Atari 2600 version (as you would expect). The following web site has information about many games, but it seems that some games are missing. http://www.c64.com/
thomasholzer
LCP was released in UK on tape, with half the game missing....I thought WTF.
Reaperman
I've got to say it's space rogue. with wasteland and pirates close behind. I like c64, the 8-bit that got a lot of games one would normally need a 16-bit for.
Rybags
Impossible Mission. Although, back in the 80's it was probably Uridium. Then there's Wizball, Delta, The Last Ninja, Armalyte, and Monty on the Run. and, Gianna Sisters of course. Funny thing was - the '64 versions of Wizball, Gianna and IM were much better than the Amiga ones. Edited April 3, 2008 by Rybags
