Trebor
Well, this is odd. I retested all the Realsports Soccer images I have and instead of setting the mapping to 32K, I set it back to Auto. The all loaded and ran fine now. -Trebor
Trebor
Thanks Trebor for your testing You're welcome. Thanks for updating Kat again, especially incorporating the NTSC video support! Below is a list of the titles I have gone through. Some of which includes several dumps of the same title (IE Realsports Soccer). eegt97
"Atari Diagnostics V2.3" - Refuses to load 'User Message - Error Loading BIOS image'. Loads and works fine in 0.4.2. Found a problem with my database build script causing it to think this was an 8-bit computer image. Will be fixed.
eegt97
I updated the installer again. This fixes the following: - User functions not done in the GUI when mapped to joystick buttons - Database machine type fixes for 5200 diagnostic carts - Launcher speed doubled - Current machine not remembered if emulator is exited while playing - Mapping shows correctly on main GUI screen Same place as in first post. Remember to back up your database file (kat5200.db3) to keep your configuration. -Brian

Trebor
Problem with Deadzone setting at 5%. Fresh build/start. I map the inputs from my gampad to the various inputs for the 5200 controller. I save it as Default 5200 profile with Sensitivity left at 95%, but Deadzone set to 5%. I perform a create new as well. I name the profile Analog 5200, I check off 'Simulate Analog' save the profile with the 'Save As' button as save it as Analog 5200. I go back to the Default 5200 profile and see all my settings in place including Deadzone at 5% and Simulate Analog not checked. I view my Analog 5200 profile and see all my settings in place including Deadzone at 5% and Simulate Analog checked. I click 'OK' to exit the input screen. I re-enter the Input screen and check both controller profiles. Both profiles show Deadzone set to 4%. I tried the above setup using a 6% Deadzone to see if kat would subtract 1% and bring the value to 5% once I exited and re-entered the input screen. It did not. It stayed at 6%. I reset the Deadzone value to 5% to both profiles, saved for each profile, left the input screen, re-entered, and checked both profiles. Both profiles were once again set to 4%. -Trebor
Trebor
There are still problems with mapping functions to gamepad buttons. Again, the configuration screens appear to map all the functions to the correct buttons, but once in game the functions such as Back, Reset, Pause, Start are not responding. EDIT: My bad. I forgot to check 'Use a Default' for the profile. However, the Back mapping seems to go right back to the game. I need to hit the button several times and then eventually it just stays on the menu. -Trebor Edited October 11, 2008 by Trebor

I have discovered this happens in 'Window Mode' only, not 'Fullscreen'. -Trebor
eegt97
I'm not sure I fully understand the problem. The purpose of the Back mapping is to go back and forth between game and gui. Is the problem that is stops doing this after a while? I'll take a look at the deadzone thing, I think it must be a rounding error. Thanks, Brian

Thanks, Brian The problem is when you're in Window mode kat jumps to the menu screen and immediately right back to the game again (As if you pressed the button twice...but I only press it once). It does not happen when you are using Fullscreen. -Trebor
rxd
I seem to be having problems shooting diagonally in Berzerk, plus of course the speech it messed up also but that's because alot of the sound is off... But this seems like quite a step forward for this emulator. Keep up the good work!

I don't experience either one of those issues. Speech sounds clear and understandable as well as shooting diagonally is as easy as up, down, left and right. Maybe it's your configuration or/and ROM image (?) Berzerk runs great with no issues for me. -Trebor
eegt97
Hi, Rxd, let me know what kind of controller your using (and how your using it) if your still having issues with your controller. I don't see any issues with diagonal shooting or voice. I have fixes for the back event mapped to joystick button and rounding issues with Deadzone, but will probably wait a couple of weeks for more issues and then do a release. I have a couple of unix issues I'm trying to kill off as well and then I will release the source as well. Please continue to report any issues you have. Thanks, Brian
