The following is text from the manual-in-progress. There's nothing here that's not already in the other thread, but this is all in one place:

 

Setting Up

 

Plug a joystick into the Left controller socket. If you have an AtariVox or I2C Memory Card, plug it into the Right controller socket. Whack the cartridge in the socket and power-on!

 

From the title screen, press Select to choose the TV mode. Each press cycles NTSC - PAL60 - PAL (50Hz). (Selected TV mode is stored in the AtariVox/Memory Card.)

 

Press Fire to start the game.

 

Pressing Reset whilst holding the joystick Down resets the high-scores. (The high-score table is only available when an AtariVox or I2C Memory Card is connected.)

 

Note: Always turn the console power off when inserting or removing an Atari-compatible game program cartridge. This will protect the life of your Atari 2600™ Video Computer Game System.

 

AtariVox and I2C Memory Cards are sold separately.

 

Playing The Game

 

Use joystick Left/Right to negotiate the platforms but don’t get pushed off the top or fall off the bottom of the screen or else it’s Game Over.

 

Scoring

 

You start off scoring 1 point for each platform you pass. Collect fruit in sequence to multiply the score.

 

Cherry: 2x

Strawberry: 3x

Pineapple: 4x

Mango: 5x

 

Collect a Mango and a goodie will appear next. If you miss a fruit or goodie then you lose the multiplier. (The multiplier is also reset after collecting goodies.)

 

Goodies

 

Skateboard - Quicker than running.

 

Gravity (Down Arrow) – Small increase in gravity. Up to 3 of these can be collected in a chain, which also has the benefit of extending the time you have the x5 multiplier.

 

Stop Sign – Momentarily slows the scrolling. Also come in threes.

 

Helipack – Fly your way through the platforms using the Fire button to thrust. Be careful not to crash or you’ll lose it!

 

Bubble – Another way to fly. This time use Up/Down to control your ascent/descent.

 

Magic Mushroom – Mushrooms flash red/blue. Pick one when it’s Blue and you’ll have a good trip (bonus points) but pick one when it’s Red and you’ll have a bad trip (controls reversed). Eating a Mango cures the effect.

 

Mystery Golden Fruit – They’re not called Mystery Golden Fruit for nothing!

I have been playing the game with atarivox and some speakers

 

first I dont know why the game makes me think of H.E.R.O.

 

when you pick up the helicopter does it say "Arcade hero"?

 

I like the "there" and "mangooooooo"

 

there are only 2 introductory sentences

"run,run,run" and "may the foos be with you", right?

That Randy is an unsavory Anti-Albert.

When I heard of his Edtris deal I decided to never buy anything from him and most people know that I would LOVE a copy of Edtris or a similar falling block game. I want Edtris more than any game out there but I could never buy it from Randy knowing that his is ripping off the creator in order to sell it.

Last I heard he suffered a stroke I believe?

What you're hearing as "there" (when he picks up a fruit) is actually a burp.

If you get far enough in the game and then start a new one there will be a 'continue' item right at the top that takes you about the speed and platform placement that the last game left off at. Every time I start a game with the atarivox attached there are 2 of these. If you get the first one it takes you to the green platforms, and if you get the second it takes you to the purple ones. It really isn't a continue feature like a password or anything, but still a first on the 2600 for sure.

 

Yep, I finally got to that point.

 

Does anyone know what that flashing mushroom does? I had my high score (777) then found the flashing mushroom. I turned rainbow-colored but couldn't move at all. I instantly died. Then when I played a new game, I grabbed the mushroom and was able to keep playing. I found the bubble, then floated into a black oblivion. The score continued up until around 300, then glitched into another instant death. Weird.

I realized just today how much more to this game there is than I first thought... I hit the HERO helicopter and said WOW! Then read this thread... I have a lot to look forward to! I hope this gets finished, it's fantastic! Mostly I hope the programmer is okay and doing well.

I just played this for the first time due the HSC. What are the odds of this game getting finished by the original programmer or another one?

Probably not good. The original programmer had some serious medical problems, and hasn't been heard from in many months. It's unlikely any other programmer would consider finishing up the game without his input/permission/support. We're all hoping he recovers and would choose to finish up the game of course. But whether that happens or not...
