CPUWIZ
I just popped open a box lot of games and found a Bobby Is Going Home cart. So I go to plug it in, expecting it to roll and it doesn't, all other PAL carts roll on my TV so this must be the NTSC version. I find this rather interesting since I have never seen a Bit-Corp cart that doesn't roll. Just thought I'd share this knowledge.
Room 34
Does the game still suck?
SS
@ CPUWIZ : Cool find. Do you have the capacity to dump it in order to make absolutely sure that it's NTSC? @ Room 34 : I just popped in my CCE version to remind myself what the game was. You’re so right about this one. What a stinker!

Brad2600
I have Bobby is Going Home but I can't tell if it's Bit-Corp or CCE. The box resembles a CCE box and so does the label. There's just no CCE logo on either.
as_the_gavel_falls
I think I have three copies, they all look NTSC to me, no rolling. Here's a bin I just dumped. (thanks CPUWIZ for the dumper) http://www.atariguide.com/rom/bobby_is.bin

Brad2600
Mine looks similar to this..except that it's in English and uses white text. The text is also a different font I believe.
CPUWIZ
The one I just found looks like the PAL version.
Brad2600
So how do I find out which cart I have? It's definitely not Bit Corp. I didn't see anything on GameReset about it.

There is a binary from Rentacom (Brazil) which is NTSC or PAL-60.. bobby_is_going_home__rentacom___brazil_____.zip

It came from Florida. CloneSpy says: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 0 Bobby is Going Home (CCE) (NTSC by Thomas Jentzsch) · 95 95 95 95 90 76 76 1 Bobby is Going Home (CCE) (PAL)···················· = · 99 99 99 94 76 76 2 Jumping Jack (Dynamics) (PAL) [!]·················· = = · 99 99 94 76 76 3 Bobby geht nach Hause (Starsoft) (PAL) [!]········· = = = · 99 94 76 76 4 Bobby is Going Home (Bitcorp) (PAL) [!]············ = = = = · 95 77 76 5 Felix Return (Goliath) (PAL) [!]··················· = = = = = · 78 77 6 BOBBY (NTSC)············································· = = = = = = · 99 7 Bobby is Going Home (Rentacom) (Brazil) [!]········ = = = = = = = · Thanks Thomas. It seems to be 100% identical to the Rentacom version with the exception of the Bit-Corp logo (32 bytes difference) and it's 100% guaranteed NTSC. Brad2600
I dunno if anyone has been paying attention, but do I have either a: 1. Rentacom cart 2. Bit Corp cart 3. Puzzy cart ? All I know is that it came from someone on Digital Press in a lot. It's boxed and I also have a Pitfall cart that is similar. It's NTSC and doesn't actually roll. Thomas Jentzsch
Yup, the colors seem to be adjusted to NTSC. Rentacom wouldn't have done it that way, so I assume they pirated the NTSC Bitcorp version but didn't adjust the colors for PAL-60.
Thomas Jentzsch
? What does it say on screen?
