kenfused
A couple of people requested this one. I dont guarantee I have the fire button handling correctly on a real 5200, so lets give it a try. CPUWIZ
Buttons work but the graphics underneith the CBS logo (horizontal line of garbage) are screwed up.
kenfused
Buttons work but the graphics underneith the CBS logo (horizontal line of garbage) are screwed up. hmmm. looks fine on on emulator. Maybe a DLI taking too much time on the 5200? Does it play? Does the playfield look ok.?
CPUWIZ
Probably. Yes. Yes.
Bryan
Man.. I've tried to figure out why Atari800Win+ is so forgiving when emulating the 5200, and so accurate when emulating the A8. -Bry
kenfused
by the way. Which button does what is determined by which button you press to start the game. One button will cause pulling back to activate shields. The other button used to start the game, will cause it to fire and the other button to activate shields (by other button I mean upper vs. lower). The game already seemed to have support on the 8-bit for using a second button and I tried to keep it intact if I didn't break anything in the process. CPUWIZ
Upper = Trigger / Fire Lower = Shield

kenfused
This should fix the garbage line (which was showing up blank on Atari800Win Plus) (new version in later message)
kenfused
I think I have found the cause of the crash on the title screen (and potentially in all other of my ports from Preppie on -- not DK and DK jr). It will occur usually if the game goes into attract mode for a while due to a missing ldx #0 intructiion before callling a subroutine to process a pokey countdown timer (only needed by Preppie but code is probably still enabled on most later ports). Testing fixed version now.
Vic George 2K3
Pretty good adaptation. Should have appeared on the 5200 during its heyday.
kenfused
new version that hopefully will not crash after a while on the title. stnh5200.zip
DEBRO
kenfused, I read your file in the zip about reading the 5200 keyboard. You might want to jump over to the ATTENTION PAM PROGRAMMERS (and fans!) thread and check out the documents Curt posted. They might help. BTW, great work
