JerseyDevil
I have a 2600 Super Cobra, that plays fine except the picture rolls. I cleaned the cart really good. Does anyone know why this could be happening. Could it be a PAL cart?
Xot
Most likely. Is that the only cart that rolls on you?

Whisper
There's a very simple remedy to get rid of that rolling image forever. It's only a few simple steps. Step 1: - Get a padded envelope and put the cart in Step 2: - Write my address on it Step 3: - Put a stamp on it and send it my way Presto! all you're PAL trouble will be gone! Draikar
I also think its PAL, they sneak into a fun loving NTSC homes and corrupt you with picture rolling on your TV and some people that survived say that there was evil subliminal messages too but this is unknown. There is. If you record such a rolling picture, then play it back in slow motion, certain carts will display messages like "NTSC sucks!" and "Europeans do it with PALs" written in the overscan area. :-)
Tsukasa
Which carts do this? I would like to see this for my self. I could burn them to eproms or fire them up on my supercharger.

Draikar
They say they call them PAL "Phase Alternating Lines" but the truth is they call it PAL so it seems like "Pall / your friend". Swordquest: Airworld PAL version is the most deadly cart, If you get one sent it to me so I can take care of it and it cant hurt anyone elts !

JerseyDevil
I now have 3 Super Cobras and they all have the same picture rolling problem. Is it possible this game is just not compatable with my Vader? I don't have another 2600 to try it on. Anybody have any ideas?
elliott
I have similar problems with some of my carts. Chuck Norris/Artillery Duel Chuck Norris: works in 7800 and vader Artillery Duel: rolls in 7800 and vader That makes no sense at all unless I have a very rare half PAL cart . Solaris: works in 7800, rolls in vader My guess is Solaris porobably would work in a Jr. since they are from the same time period, but I don't have one to test it on. +-^CrossBow^-
Hmm...my Solaris works on my 77' made Sears Heavy Sixer... I have never had a Vader model so I can't attest to the compatibiliy. But I don't remember any problems with my old 4 switcher I used to have and I suspect there is little to no change on the boards between the 4 switcher woody and vader units. JerseyDevil
All my other PB games work fine. I guess I can always trade the 3 Super Cobras I have for something else.
gospeedde
The Artillery Duel is not pal. I have the same problem with both of mine. As far as I understand, it is my tv that is the problem, not my system. It won't work on my tv because I can't hand adjust the tracking. I don't really understand it but it has something to do with scan lines and basically boils down to just plain bad coding. Its been discussed here before so if you search for it you can probably find a way better explanation than the one I just gave.

If it's NTSC I'm not really interested. I have 2 PAL carts that I can't get to display right, Nuts (only released as PAL) and PAL Desert Falcon. I have multiple copies of Desert Falcon and all of them roll. I guess the number of scanlines is a bit off in these games. I haven't tried it on another tv which can display NTSC games (with color shift) though...
