Intellivision -> Atari 2600 port

And here's the next one in this series. This time we're gonna sort out which Intellivsion game from Imagic is the most desired for the Atari 2600!

 

The selection contains all 10 Imagic titles that have no 2600 match..

Dracula is humorous and if done right, could be pulled off on the 2600.

i think beauty and the beast would translate best to the VCS, most of these titles used multiple buttons and would be a pain to translate to the 2600 without watering down the gameplay

I picked Swords and Serpents because I like the simultaneous gameplay and I my neighbor and I played this game a bunch when it first came out. We'd take turns being the knight and the wizard. Sadly, I don't remember what happened (if anything) when we finally beat the huge dragon at the end of the game.

Uihjah, amazingly low interest here. Well, my personal pick is "Beauty and the Beast", definitely worth a 2600 conversion, especially regarding the horrible bunch of available 2600 DK variants thus far...

I had a hard time making a choice here. I went with Microsurgeon because it would be tough to pull off. Might as well make it difficult for the homebrewer.

I always wanted to play Microsurgeon and Swords & Serpents ever since I saw them in the catalog. I don't know which I would like more since I haven't played either one, so I don't which one to vote for.

You could always play them on an INTV or using an INTV emulator. I used to own mint boxed copies of both before I had to sell them off.

I remember seeing the pictures for that game when it came out and thinking....WHOA!!

It's to bad that none of the Imagic games that were advertised for Atari 5200/8-bits never came out. I think they only put Demon Attack and Atlantis for the 8-bits.

Just a very sweet game that I like even as a major INTV hater . . . How could you do all 200 or whatever levels, though? And if it's possible, make it just a little faster. . .

I would definately like Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. That was an incredible game for Intellivision.

uhm, AD&D was mattel, not an Imagic game :-) Swords and Serpents IS NOT mattel AD&D. Though it is awesome, S&S is a completely different game.

 

Imagic's Mattel games are some of my favorite game designs of all time. so I vote for all of them :-) But being forced to choose, I say Microsurgeon.

I voted Beauty and the Beast, although I also love Nova Blast (only ever played the Colecovision version) But it is a very good variation on the Defender theme, it reminds me of Repton (C64 game by Sirius) excellent side shooter!
