Whenever I do pull out one of the A8s it's usually to tinker with (with either MAC/65 or PL65).
oesii
Ballblazer Star League Baseball Hardball Summer Games A bunch of Infocom games like Planetfall and HTGG which I grew up with and I like to discover ones I never got around to. I know you can play them on a million other systems but the 8bits are how I originally played them and it just feels right Anyways, the games I grew up with are the ones that make me come back. Atari Smeghead
I enjoy threads like this. It's not a simple "what is your fav" type of thing so much. It's the idea of... let's say you've been busy with, oh I dunno, the real world. Then, you find a Saturday where everyone's left you the smeg alone. The day's truly yours, and you want to play a game or five. Here's my list of the first games I always play when it's "been awhile" : Dreadnought Factor Galactic Chase Archon Aztec Buried Bucks Apple Panic Krazy Shootout And sure, there are several others that I love playing, but these are the ones that will be first. If I have time and my thumb's not too sore, I'll go after Crossfire or BallBlazer or Choplifter or Oils Well... but those are always the first ones. Great thread, Daniel! +CharlieChaplin
Well, in the last couple of days I played: - Fort Apocalypse - Bruce Lee - Conan - Zybex - Montezumas Revenge (and its polish counterpart Deimos) Maybe instead of a Top 5 / Top 10 we should also do a kind of Flop 5 / Flop 10 (the 5 or 10 worst A8 games)... My vote for the Flop 5 would be: - Amauroute by Mastertronic (what a bad gameplay!) - Frenesis by Mastertronic (is it really a game?!?) - Colony by Mastertronic (oh how boring!) - Nightmares by Mastertronic (ouch!) - that Alien... game by Mastertronic (a really bad Who Dares Wins or Commando clone) Nough said - Andreas. ATARIeric
thats a tough question, i dont have a top 5, i never owned the A8 when i was younger, just the 2600, i bought my first A8 2 years ago, so most of the games are new to me alley cat is fun, i like the way the cat hisses when the dog is all over it, very funny sounds and i like the zork games, i did get a commando from sunmark when it came out, thats a fun game that brings me back to the old arcade days  i have quite a few but never really played them yet, mostly sampling
emkay
Hard to say "best 5" ... the "best 5" to bring back were not done back in the main "Atari age" Actually, the hope of having the best games at least "Today", keeps me having the A8 "alive". But if someone asks about the best memorys given...: Boulder Dash The last Starfighter Encounter International Karate The Eidolon
