jsoper
Exactly what adapter are you talking about and where can I get one? 845091 You can solder your own or bribe someone else to do it: gun adapter
Rob Mitchell
Exactly what adapter are you talking about and where can I get one?845091 As stated already .. it is a simple circuit. I have the parts to make the adapter .. or I could make it for you. And an extension cable is required to make it work well. PM me if interested. Bruce Tomlin
I once converted a sega gun to have a second wire sticking out for Atari use. So it had two wires coming out from it. Then I found an XE gun and it never mattered much anyhow because I've been no fan of gun games because they're too much trouble.
Mr. PHP
The Sega MS light gun I used had a trigger switch wired to normally open. It did not have a pin for the normally closed position that the Atari guns use. I had to actually open the trigger-switch and physically transfer the pin! It worked for a long while, but it just finally gave up the ghost. I ordered the "Best Atari Light Gun" from Best Electronics rather than to fuss with another hack. I rarely use a light gun, but I'll let ya'll know how it goes..... Edited April 28, 2005 by Mr. PHP

Mr. PHP
I got my Best Atari Light Gun today from Best Electronics. (That is one neat store!) Super fast shipping and nice folks! The gun works great, but I still like the Sega "Phaser" better. The Sega gun had metal weights inside the grips to give the gun some mass. The Best gun is like a balloon. Also, the front sights on the Best gun are actually lower than the rear frame which has no sights at all. It took a little getting used to, but it works fine. I would rather have my Sega MS-ripped gun back, but the Best gun works good enough. All in all, I prefer my Glock 21 with the Glock Tactical Laser and Light. It is much more accurate and the stopping power of the .45 ACP is awesome. It will, however, destroy your TV. For blasting pixels, the Best Atari Light Gun works just fine. PS I also ordered a new set of Atari 2600 paddles which are really cool. Jitter free Super Breakout is fun!
