Foxsolo2000
Does anyone know how to play the game Panda Quest for after long hours of playing the thing I am no closer to understanding the point of what I am suppossed to be doing? Whilst on the subject what about Zoo Fun which is obvisously a copy of Panda Quest and is just as frustrating to understand. Thirdly which game was the original for there was Panda Quest, Panda Rescue, Panda, Panda Escape etc.
Rom Hunter
There is nothing to it. You have to eat the green bamboo sticks to get new energy and points. The bamboo sticks are in the huts. If you collide with a grey animal, you loose one of your three lives and you are teleported to another screen (the main field, the pitfall or the bamboo forest). If you collide with a green animal, you fall down. If you run out of energy or loose all of your lives, the game is over. You get 2 points for each disappearing energy-unit. If you manage to get out of a hut (jump on the platforms to reach the bamboo), you receive 60 points and 15 energy-units. If you manage to get out of a pitfall (jump on the platforms to reach the top), you receive 100 points and 10 energy-units. If you manage to get out of a bamboo forest (just walk to the left or to the right), you receive 48 energy-units. That's all. The original is Panda (Quest) (198?) (Rainbow Vision - Suntek) (SS-035) (PAL) or Panda Chase (1983) (Home Vision) (VCS83105) (PAL) Edited April 28, 2005 by Rom Hunter
Marco
I think it's a pretty safe bet to say that the Homevision release is the original. Cheers, Marco
Rom Hunter
Zoo Fun (with borrowed data from Panda Chase) is even simpler. Move to the cage with an animal (lion, kangaroo or monkey) in it. You are now moved to another screen in which the animal is on the loose. If you press the fire button, the colour of your character changes and you now have "teleport" ability (move the joystick up or down to teleport). You can reach the animal much faster now, but you can't catch it. You can only catch an animal if you change back in your original multi-coloured person, otherwise the animal will push you away. If you have caught the animal, you must bring it to one of the cages and you will receive 100 points. You get 2 points for each disappearing energy-unit. You can replenish energy by standing in the middle of the main field. If you run out of energy, you loose one of your three (panda!) lives. If you have no lives left, the game ends.
