Twird (game)

Well this is my first attempt of a 2600 platform game, it is about 22% finished.

"You are an alien trying to find his mothership which was crashed on earth."

Guide: Watch the little Twird land and then move him with left or right, jump with the fire button. at the top left you will see its energy bar, when hit this decreases (still needs work). Don't get burned by the fire, you can jump over it, I know you can.

At the moment there is only one screen (it won't be scrolling) I'm planning to make around 3 levels with each ca. 6 screens and some kind of boss at the end.

greets

Update: added 3 more screens to level 1

Just added 3 screens to the first level, the forrest level. To bad I haven't got much sprites to play with so gues I will use the ball or a missile as an enemy which Twird must avoid by jumping over it while avoiding getting burned.

You could conditionally change your enemy sprites. If on screen 1 then the player is defined this way, on screen 2 this way, etc.

EDIT: Just reread your post. Sorry, not what you were talking about. However you could change the fire to something else as you progress.

I think I will let stuff like burning pieces of the tree fall down which Twird needs to avoid, this will be more realisticly then a ball coming from nowhere. I could use missile2 for the pieces.

Have you tried it? (twird02.bin)

Just did. The tree section is very cool. You get a brief glimpse of a different screen right when the trees catch on fire. There is a score, that's about all I can make out in the split second it is on the screen.

This is a fantastic WIP, and I'd really love to know how you did the 3 fires on one line without flicker. Any updates to the bin?

edit: I figured it out. I haven't used nusiz much yet but still, silly question.
