+Allan
Just ordered one, looks like a great product. I hope Steve can make all those conversion roms that he worked on available soon. Please keep us updated on that. 961026 Bryan has also given his permission to modify his MULE conversion to work on the flash cartridge, so I will do that one soon as well. 964834 So does this mean you can do conversions of games larger that 32K and run them on the new multi-cart without using one of Bryans special bank-switch carts? +Allan
This game needs a label now. Was Xagon a commercial game? I can't find anything on the Web about it. Allan
classics
So does this mean you can do conversions of games larger that 32K and run them on the new multi-cart without using one of Bryans special bank-switch carts? Actually MULE is a special case, it will work because it does very little bank switching. Basically just during loading. If you wanted to write a program that just needed a lot of ROM storage but didnt need fast access to it, then yes, the flash cart would be suitable. If you want to do single instruction banking many times a second like a typical 2600 game does then it wont work, it wasnt designed with those types of games in mind. classics
XAGON was released by the Australian user group MACE. I dont think it was commercial. Steve

classics
Xagon kicked ass. I logged some serious hours on that game when it was new. No kidding, I just spent a few hours with it and its a great game. The shadows under the sprites are a nice touch, and the teleportation enemy thats an animated 3d wireframe pyramid. For a freeware game its incredible quality, better than a lot of commerical releases. A better q*bert than q*bert IMHO. Too bad there is no original artwork for a label. Laner
The multicart I purchased from classics last year has both the Atlantis and Demon Attack conversions on them. Just not sure how to get them from that cart to somewhere else!
Pipercub
After futzing around with a multicart order from 8bitdomain for over two months of them not being able to process or communicate I have given up and ordered this one today. I can't wait for it to arrive.
classics
Modification of Bryan's MULE image is complete and it works good, with a few gotchas. The image has to be installed in slots 126 and 127 on the cartridge. I've split it into two separate files, each numbered with the correct slot to install them in. MULE is twice the size of a normal 5200 cart so it takes up two 'slots' on the flash cartridge. Select slot 126 to start the game. Once the game is started all controls such as Reset, start, etc should work normally. Power on/off to return to the flash cartridge menu. Now for the egg on my face portion of the posting. It looks like I sent out some of the pre-orders with the last beta testing firmware not the final firmware. If the game crashes when you are done selecting your character, you will need to send back your cartridge so I can re-program it with the final firmware. Only carts assembled in the first batch of pre-orders will have this problem, all the others have the correct final firmware installed already. This only takes a minute to program so it will go back out the same day. E-mail or PM to arrange service.
