ferrarimanf355
http://www.gamedaily.com/xbox/preview/?id=...52&source=00001 Sounds like another winning classic compilation...
NE146
p.s. The Xbox version uses MAME. Yep.. the rom names are the same, etc. etc.. And you know how in Mame the emulated sounds for Phoenix are off? Yep.. it's in there. Oddly this doesn't seem to be the case for the Playstation 2 versions (both of them) which have different sets of games than this U.S. Xbox version more or less. But then again, I dunno. All I know is by all indications, Xbox Taito Legends == MAME.
Gabriel
I already have this on pre-order for the PS2 just for Phoenix. But do the light gun games have GunCon2 support?

Atariboy
I think the US PS2 version will be identical to the US Xbox version. He's talking about overseas versions done by a different developer.

AEX
Yes! Its out in Ireland, so I assume Europe has launched it (xplosiv are the publisher). I also picked up Midway Arcade Treasures 3, so a fun evening ahead when the baby goes to sleepy land! So, there is Namco Museum 50th Anniversary Arcade Collection, Tecmo Classic Arcade and Capcom Classics Collection also to look forward to this year! And, according to the card inside Taito Legends, volume 2 with 40 titles in due early 2006! Sweet! Karl

Namco Museum: 50th Anniversary http://www.thelogbook.com/phosphor/edit/namco50 Taito Legends http://www.thelogbook.com/phosphor/edit/taito Next week is a review of Capcom Classics Collection. NE146
Ok in attempt to catalog what the heck each Taito compilation has (since they all have different sets of games)I put together this list. Let me know if you see any inaccuracies. Taito Legends (XBOX) ----------------- Space Invaders (1978) Phoenix(1980) Space Invaders Part 2 (1980) Colony 7 (1981) Electric Yoyo (1982) Jungle Hunt (1982) Zoo Keeper (1982) Elevator Action (1983) Great Swordsman (1984) Return of the Invaders (1985) Bubble Bobble (1986) Gladiator (1986) Tokio (1986) Exzisus (1987) Plump Pop (1987) Operation Wolf (1987) Rainbow Islands (1987) Rastan (1987) Super Qix (1987) The New Zealand Story (1988) Operation Thunderbolt (1988) Battle Shark (1989) Continental Circus (1989) Plotting (1989) Volfied (1989) Ninja Kids (1990) Space Gun (1990) Thunderfox (1990) Tube It (1993) Taito Memories Joukan (PS2) --------------------- Space Invaders Colour [1978] Lunar Rescue [1980] Alpine Ski [1982] The Fairyland Story [1985] Kiki Kaikai [1986] Bubble Bobble [1986] Rastan Saga [1987] Kuri Kinton [1988] Syvalion [1988] Jigoku Meguri [1988] Cameltry [1989] Don Doko Don [1989] Flipull [1989] Kyuukyoku Harikari Koshien [1990] Majestic 12 Space Invaders Part IV [1990] Runark [1990] PuLiRuLa [1991] Metal Black [1991] Grid Seeker [1992] Space Invaders DX [1994] Darius Gaiden [1994] Lightbringer [1994] Elevator Action -Returns[1994] Cleopatra Fortune [1995] Puchi Carat [1997] Taito Memories Gekan (PS2) -------------------- 1978 Space Invaders 1979 Space Invaders Part 2 1980 Crazy Balloon 1980 Balloon Bomber 1981 Qix 1982 Wild Western 1983 Elevator Action 1983 Chack 'n Pop 1983 Front Line 1985 Legend of Kage 1988 New Zealand Story 1988 Rastan Saga 2 1988 Ramais 1989 Insector X 1989 Cadash 1989 Violence Fight 1990 Gun Frontier 1990 Hat Trick Hero 1990 Mizubaku Daibouken (Liquid Kids) 1992 Arabian 1995 Akkanvader 1995 Gekirindan 1995 Puzzle Bobble 2 1996 Raystorm 1997 G Darius 'Course again, the Xbox version just seems to use Mame (which sucks in my opinion). The PS2 versions seem different though. But then again I have no idea what they use.. might just be a modded mame as well
The_Collector
I have the import of this one Taito Memories Joukan (PS2) It gets the big so-so from me. I'm hoping the US version is better, even if it is just a MAME comp.
Tanukitsune
YES! I finally have it! Huh? It comes with a collectable card? And there are six different ones? I got Pheonix! But do they expect people to buy several copies just to get the cards? Damn! Was the original version of The New Zealand Story supposed to have no way to continue? KHAAAAN! Tempest
Damn! Was the original version of The New Zealand Story supposed to have no way to continue? 951603[/snapback] I thought that when you died there was a small chance that you'd play a mini-game where you had to touch the Virgin Mary. If you did you were allowed to continue, but the mini-game didn't pop up all the time and was random. I swear I read that somewhere. Xot
Not shipping until the 25th in the States, or so says EB. I plunked down my $20 for it anyways. If it's half as good as Capcom Classics I'll be ultra pleased.
ubersaurus
You know since we're on teh subject of compilations, and I didn't see a thread for it...how's the tecmo collection? I am intrigued by Plieades.

Tony J Case
You know since we're on teh subject of compilations, and I didn't see a thread for it...how's the tecmo collection? I am intrigued by Plieades. Of the compilations I got that day (Midway 3, Capcom and Temco), Temco was the weakest of the bunch. Even an avid gamer like myself, there was very few games that I recalled from the arcade - and it was the most expensive of the bunch ($30 vs $20 for the other two). Star Force was the best of the disc - a solid if not exceptionaly outstanding Space Invaders clone. Rygar was the next favorite of the disc, a pretty fun side scroller. Pleiads didnt really make an impression on me - neither good or bad. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably leave that on the shelf. Really, it was Capcom that won the day for me. You just cant beat Ghosts and Goblins.
tyranthraxus
Elevator Action Returns is one of the great game updates. I think its far better than the original. Too bad its not on all the versions.
