Wrathchild
Hi, This little demo just lets the computer play itself, after which you can press 'start' and let it play again. My aim here is to do a (CC65) 'C' based application in order to make the sources available for study. Sikor
Nice job Another Atax clone in same year...? Wow!!! You don't belive me? Look here: http://atari.online.pl/v01/index.phtml?sub...&ct=nowinki - klony is Atax clone made in Poland this year. You can download full version from this side. O.K. - I like different versions, so, I hope - this version will be done too Good Luck!!
Wrathchild
Thanks, I saw and played Klony after the post on AA: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=91945 Not sure if mine will end up so professional looking, e.g. it'll probably use a borrowed tune and graphics kept simple. I've had the self demo play itself on level 2. The AI logic routines take a little longer, especially early on in the game because of the number of 'free' squares to evaluate. But the 'thinking time' for the computer is acceptable at that level and should give a good challenge. I haven't checked level 3 though as its early days and I want to get the human player involved . I'd played this game first on the Palm version (link above) and so didn't realize the game had this 'un-usable square' element to it until later trying ports of the arcade version. Personally, I prefer the 'empty' board game, even though the challenge of adjusting strategy due to the placements of the fixed squares is interesting. As it stands I'll leave this version as 'empty', though it wouldn't be too hard to have a variant for the arcade mode. Kaz atarionline.pl
Any progress Wrathchild?
Wrathchild
ummm, sorry it fell off my radar at the end of last year, but it would be worth me taking a look at it again and get the human player element built in. Thanks for reminding me!
Kaz atarionline.pl
I'm happy the project is still alive - it would be nice to play that game. Keep going and good luck!
Wrathchild
Here was the level 2 demo, slightly improved graphics, adding in the Level selector and I think swapping over the incrementing of the scores so they worked right. Don't worry about the text font, that line should either become gr.0 or have its own font. Kaz, can you get the 'Wratchild' on the atari.online.pl pages updated to 'Wrathchild'? (I think that also needs doing in the g2f library - but that can wait). Cheers, Mark Ataxx.zip
