classics
I wouldn't be too sure any ColecoVision eprom board is a prototype. Take a look at these boards, all from production carts I stripped today. Steve

Tempest
I've completely given up on trying to ID Colecovision protos. Like classics said, I've seen production carts with labeled EPROMs in them that have revision numbers and dates on them so it's nearly impossible to know for sure. Bill Brasky
F, f, f, f, FAKE! I love how any cart with a plain typed or hand-written label becomes a "prototype" on ebay. I own masking tape and a pen too. Let's see, Donkey Kong Rev# 12, 4/23/82. Voila! No doubt some sucker will get into an over-excited bidding war over it. What a scam. Of course this seller is unable to verify any differences, because there are none. Maybe if the seller lived near Coleco's old HQ it might lend a shred of plausability. I'm sure lots of protos ended up in B.C. Canada. Edited January 4, 2007 by Bill Brasky
Murph74
Call me simple, but I don't really see the value of a prototype of a game that was released.

mumbai
F, f, f, f, FAKE! I love how any cart with a plain typed or hand-written label becomes a "prototype" on ebay. It's not a fake, but it most certainly isn't a prototype in the strictest sense of the word.
kentuckyfried
I'll be more than happy to answer any questions anyone might have about my game I've got a line on a colecovision (and a modded xbox with emus) today and will be able to compare the commercial release and this game. I'll post pictures if there is anything interesting to report.
