I went through the entire homebrew forum and collected/categorized all the homebrew/WIP/proposal/etc. threads. This is the gigantic result. Any corrections, additions are welcome. I didn't go through the blogs or other forums. I might still, if I can work up the courage. :lol:

I'm not going to subtract anything since the threads are still there, maybe I'll put them in an "Abandoned" category.

And I'll stick with AA usernames, much clearer.

Some ColecoVision corrections:

- You have Pac-Man Collection for ColecoVision listed twice (it's still WIP).
- Zanac is still a WIP.
- Search of the Stolen Crown Jewels is complete and released (I own a cart).
- Bruce Tomlin's ColecoVision PRG has been converted into a Sega Genesis game project, and I don't think it will ever go back to the CV.
- I can confirm that Knightmare is still WIP.
- Maze Maniac is complete (I own a cart).
- I don't think this has been mentionned anywhere on these forums, but a ColecoVision conversion of Mr Do's Wild Ride already exists. It's an MSX port done by Steve Begin. I played it briefly at the last Arcadia Festival in Montreal, at it played pretty well. I think it's still a WIP though.

BTW, I've been told Time-Bandit hit a wall with Gulkave (something related to interrupt handling or something of the sort) so that project may be stalled indefinately. This info needs to be confimed, however.

Thanks for the corrections/updates. A note: several games are listed more than once where there are more than one thread for the game. Often games have a dev thread and then the author started a new thread with the completed game. I was going for completeness so I included all threads that I turned up.

I know. But the list is based on the thread, not the current status of the game. I wasn't sure (and didn't take the time to look through every thread...

) but it looked like some threads did *not* have final binaries in them, or "beta"/"release candidate" binaries, so I marked those threads with question marks.

EDIT: Ok, I looked closer at the threads and the Crazy Balloon and SOGD threads were clearly "beta"/"release candidate" threads. :dunce:

I dunno about the AStar thread, though. The last post by Aaron in the thread is from February, the game was actually released five months later. Maybe someone can confirm if that binary (here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...&p=1013599) is the final binary? If not I think the thread should perhaps be marked "WIP" with another entry, maybe with a link to the store, marked "Complete."

EDIT II: Relatedly...

Sounds like a minor methodology error. Should be easy enough for VDub to fix.

BTw, Supercat's Lunar Lander should probably be moved to "Tech Demos". It was just a kernal test that (as of his last statement) he has no real plans to expand on.

This list is designed *not* as a guide to all released homebrews, and it is not intended to be a guide to all homebrew projects, but rather a guide to all the homebrew-related *threads*

So if a thread only has comments/binaries of WIP versions of the game, then it is marked WIP.

Here's my process:
If a thread proposes an idea for a game, it is a "proposal" thread.
If a thread has in-development versions of a game *but no final-ish" binary* then it is a "WIP" *thread*
If a thread has a final-ish binary, then it is a "complete" thread

This helps distinguish between multiple threads for the same game (see: Space Battle, Rip Off!, Vulcano, etc.).

If there is no thread that contains a final binary then probably there should be a link either to the store or to the rarity guide that is marked "complete."

Thanks for the info on Atari OS; that'll be corrected next time I update the list. And I haven't gone through the bB forum yet; it's time will come... :ponder:
