Last night the wife and I were playing a game of Wii Sports Tennis. She uses some pretty extreme motions while playing (she REALLY gets in to it). She was doing a forehand, while I was doing a backhand, and she nailed me with the Wiimote on the side of my hand. I thought she broke my pinkie, but it seems it is only bruised. I have a big purple spot on the side of my pinkie, and it is pretty tender.

This is the first time that I can recall being "injured" playing a video game!

When Nintendo suggests 3 feet of space between players, I guess they mean it.

I don't really mind, as I finally got the wife to play video games with me. It's a good time.

She did it on purpose because you were winning.
It's the oldest trick in the book.

Maybe real tennis would be a safer option.

One thing I've noticed about the Wii is that it seems as though it will work better with a bigger TV. I have a 27 inch, and my girlfriend and I were struggling to play some of the mini games on Super Monkey Ball. I was playing just fine but she was having a hard time squeezing around me to keep her Wiimote pointed at the screen. This makes it hard to play at least three feet apart. I could try having her be in front of me, but since the livingroom isn't that wife, that will also be kind of difficult.

No Wii-injuries as of yet, but I can see one coming.

Wow. Some people must really get into it. The most I'll probably get is wrist cramps from flicking my wrist.

Of course I've yet to get the family involved. I'm currently keeping it to myself. Muahahahaha.

Son's birthday comes in 9 days.

I've cracked my hand into the ceiling a few times on overenthusiastic bowling throws, and Michelle has given herself a sore shoulder doing the same thing. Wii Sports injuries may become quite frequent.

shouldn't that be a Wii-njury?

Is Wii-talk turning out to be the new i-talk (as in late 90s iMac, iPod etc...)?

She Who Must Be Obeyed smacked herself in the chin whilst playing one of the Super Monkey Ball Mini-games last night, I don’t know which injury was worse, her bruise of my cramp from laughing so hard!

We have recorded injuries from Sports from friends who come over to play during parties, usually sore shoulders from playing Baseball and sore thighs from Bowling.

My first injury was an aggravation of my carpal tunnel from playing Rayman: Raving Rabbids. There's a segment in the game where Rabbids climb up on the shore and can only be driven back with a dose of carrot juice. The problem is that while you're aiming the carrot juicer with one hand, you're working a crank with the other. Forty seconds into the challenge, the rabbids become incredibly aggressive, forcing you to crank the nunchuk until your flipping hand falls off. It's all the pain of masturbating at supersonic speeds, with none of the pleasure. How the heck do you beat this stage, anyway?

As reported by one our friends the next day after about 4 hours of solid bowling, she was really getting into the whole replicating actual bowling and reckoned the crouching as she bowled stiffened her up the next day.

Or, maybe she and her husband kept the good times going after playing Wii when they got home and the sore thighs were really a result of some frantic Horizontal Folk Dancing.......
