People who gripe about neat little interactive freebies in their game system need help.

I'm not griping about it, basically like I said, I could care less about it. To me it's next to nothing. I don't game hours and hours a day, so when I do sit down to have a good time...That aint it. I'm just not amused by something like that and wish they would focus on something that had some substance and am not afraid to say when something is lame. If I was twelve I might like that goofy shit .Maybe. You say it cool...I say it's a waste. Personally I think someone that would think that was "COOL" needs help! I will however call for help if you think I really really need it, I don't want to endanger society with my terrible opinions!!! :dunce:

A waste of what? Memory on your Wii? Resources at Nintendo? Getting anything for free, then complaining about what a waste it was and how they really should have focused on something else is a basically a gripe. Like when I give homeless people the change from my pocket and they scoff at how little it was, then throw the pennies away.
Don't worry, I'm not going all crazy here and starting what will eventually have this thread locked. But, people who don't look at the bright side of something new and free need help. Period. This new feature may not be deep or meaty, but it was dead cheap, a surprise to everyone, and above all else it's a new idea for a game system. How many of those do we see in gaming anymore really? You can argue there is almost nothing to it, and it might not amuse you, but it certainly isn't a waste. It might even get people to turn on their Wiis everyday, or give my girlfriend and her sister a reason to take interest, and that makes it very cool indeed despite the fact that I'm not 12 anymore.

Moycon's right, though. I was finally able to download this, and while it's not as lame as I expected it to be (not only can you vote in the polls, you can predict which way they'll go), it's still pretty pointless; a novelty at best. Try harder, Nintendo.

Yeah try harder. We hate novelties. How dare you encourage me to download this and interact with it for no charge.

Exactly, and you can add "my time" to that list. I could have been playing Elebits instead of answering where I'd rather my house be A.) Mountain B.) Beach LOL figgler please don't tell me you are anxiously awaiting the results of this bunk. In any case, even if you are, just try and remember not everyone has the same tastes as you....some folks have good taste. :P J/K
Don't pop a blood vessle. Like I said, it's nothing. Like it if you choose to, doesn't bother me if you do, but I don't.

Wasted time? Just how many seconds does it take to go into the menu and answer a simple question?

At the very least it prompted Jess Ragan to create a list of ideas to send to nintendo.

Heck they oughta make their Wiiplay available this way. Since according to the reviews it aint all that.

Uh, yes! Just how long have you posting on this site, anyway? If it's been longer than three months you should know this by now! :D

Seriously though, if you give someone free poop on a stick it's still not a tempting offer. Everybody Votes isn't that unappealing, but with a game drought in the very near future Nintendo's going to have to offer better stuff. Sure, these channels don't cost anything, but giving out freebies benefits Nintendo as much as its customers. It keeps gamers coming back to the system even when there's nothing to play.

Wow. People are excited over...

Polls.

Who does the polls for Atari Age right now? Is it still Rhindle the Red? I bet he wishes he could get this much enthusiasm for his polls.

I think Jess's idea for a comics channel and a puzzle channel would be good. But, considering the current popularity of those damn puzzle/brainteaser games, I'd imagine Nintendo would rather sell a puzzle game as a $50 disc, possibly with periodic downloadable content for $5 a pop.

I can't imagine something like this would exactly fly off the shelves, though. Crave tried something like that for the PS2, Puzzle Challenge Crosswords. Dunno about everywhere else, but I didn't exactly see those moving too much. In fact, the one copy I saw in a discount department store has a nice cake of dust slathered over the front of it.

However, if you offer those kinds of games for free over a downloadable service, it would fly much better. I mean after all, most newspapers give you a crossword and a sudoku puzzle daily. I don't think it'd be something I would find myself using a lot, but I would try it every once in a while.

To even further sweeten the deal, they could promote the games and gave away free stuff to, say, whoever might solve a puzzle in the fastest time or whatever. Maybe 50 or 100 Wii Points to the world's fastest puzzle solver, or something like that?

Just some random thoughts while I wind down toward the weekend (thank goodness!).

I think a Sudoku game on the Wii would sell, but not at $50. Maybe at $30 or so.

Oh, and I'd like to see a "Wii Releases" channel that has the releases for that month with dates, etc. That way the "non-gamer" can see if anything is coming up that they may fancy.

I'd like something like this. The main reason I check out IGN is because they have their release dates neatly organized in a section. So, I can scroll down the list and see if there's anything coming up that I'd want. I don't know of other sites having a list like that. With other sites I have to know what game I'm looking for, look it up, and maybe click a link or two to learn it's release date. IGN's list is just more convenient.

Why not go a step further and have a Wii Games Channel that lists every game available for the Wii...and instead of the asking folks what pet they would rather have A.) Doggy or B.) Kitty have folks give there opinion on the games 1-5 stars and then list the results on that game page along with how many people voted.
