I still have yet to see a single Wii on store shelves
You got that right...I have checked about 5 stores every weekend since launch and nothing yet. The closest I have come is watching someone walk out with one in there hands at Gamestop....they got the last one :x
That's why I pretty much gave up on trying to find one in a store (not that I was looking _too_ hard). That's why I subscribed to that Wii Tracker RSS feed, so I'd see when they became available online right away. That's how I got an unbundled Wii one at Sears.com. :)

i still havent "siin" a Wii either in the stores, that's the first time i saw what the box looks like. I have played it once at gamestop in the mall, but it was some shitty ass game though, and it was amazing how fast i became one with the Wiimote.

Of course, I've had it now over 24 hours and it's still sitting in the box!! That's probably blasphemous to some degree..

..Al

Hell yeah it is! I had the one Crossbow sent me out of the box in less than 6 and was already on the phone with him trying to figure out where to set the sensor bar. *lol* Cute pic though, you gotta love how cats have to sniff EVERY new box that comes into your house! That's why I dubbed Sydney our "Postal Inspector Kitty." She loves AtariAge packages the most. :D

Just ordered one from Nintendo.com, along with a white disc case for Wii Sports (and I'll print a nice insert for it)

..Al

Didn't Sports come in a standard case in the NTSC versions? It did in the AUS PAL boxes at least.

To gloat further, for some reason we have very good Wii console availability here (the longest you have to wait is 3 weeks).

However, still no extra Nunchcks, Classic Controllers, not many Wiimotes and no ethernet adaptors, nor is the PAL range of games anything to write home about so far.

No, it comes in a crappy cardboard case the size of a CD case.

I finally got one today.

A couple of months ago, someone posted a search link for Target.com on Digg. This link was so crappy that it wouldn't even result in a good web page; you had to use View Source to check the status of the various stores. (the link)

Last week I tried my bookmarked link and only got one store with "Limited Availability". It was after closing time anyhow, so I went out there the next morning to find no Wii. Today at about 1PM I tried it, and got "Available" on more than half the Austin stores, like they had all gotten a shipment today. I went to the store I tried last week because it was close but a bit hard to see (2222 and 620, for those who know Austin) and hit pay dirt right away.

If you've got Target stores near you and are still looking for a Wii, I suggest you bookmark that link and try it every day. Remember, you have to use View Source to see the results.

That's the store I lived closest to. Went there several times looking for Wii's. :)

I've not seen one yet, but my wife is a rep for a big toy company, and in and out of the various stores every day she works, and has told me that when I'm ready, she can probably see that I get one.....of course she has to pry open the purse strings to allow it

Target does seem to be getting them in faster than anybody else. The Target on 180th and West Center here was the first store I ever walked into and actually saw systems IN THE CASE - not display boxes, the real deal, and that was about 3 weeks ago or more now. I'd say call your local Target every day if you're still looking to get one.

Yeah. Target is where I got mine and the only place I ever saw two other Wii's in the last month.
