Check out this article here.

Mind you this is only a rumor, but with today's compression capability it might just be possible. And if it turned out to be true...well...

It would be a pretty damn happy day ehh?

oh HELL yes. ive been wanting this since the wii came out. im an avid saturn collector, and id rather play my games on that any day, but damn woudl it be nice to finally get my hands on panzer dragoon saga and radiant silvergun.

with sega working with them im sure they could work a good emulator, and with modern day compression using mp3s instead of redbook im sure these games could be pretty small dloads. and i also hope that the audio is better... maybe its me using an rf adaptor, but the audio on the saturn was so quiet and tiny.

You know, in retrospect maybe Nintendo should've gone with something more substantial than half a gig of flash memory. You know, just do SOMETHING like everyone else for ONCE. :) Saturn games would indeed rock to download, but across the board they really need to start putting out some rarer games that are worth the space, and this would be an even bigger issue for the Saturn. I'll be damned if i'm giving up 75% of my available storage space for Sonic R. :D

*IF* it's true (and that's a pretty big "if"), my guess would be that the games would be saveable to an SD card. The only thing I'm not clear on yet (and it may be something Nintendo is trying to figure out) is how they'd show up in the Channels list. If the SD slot has sensors to detect insertion and removal, then that might solve the problem. Otherwise, I'm guessing we'd see an "SD Card Channel" similar to the Disc Channel. :)

On the other hand, maybe Nintendo is developing a "Wii Compatible" USB harddrive? :ponder:

This would be really freaking cool if they included import games linke Twinklestar Sprites.

Unfortunately I haven't had much play time with the Sega Saturn. The only games I;ve played are ones frineds have, and most of them are Japanese imports.

Here's hoping for a USB drive... for the money, i don't think SD cards are a particularly great amount of storage...especially when you start talking about anything bigger than an N64 game.

Also, here's hoping they've got some astounding compression technology up their sleeves, no matter what storage device they're planning. Downloading an N64 game is already like trying to download our lord and savior jesus christ. If you plan to wait around for Panzer Dragoon Saga to download, you'd best just quit your job now. :)

I haven't downloaded any of the N64 titles as of yet. Do they really take that long to download? I seem to remembing that the Internet channel so far has taken the longest to download. I think it took all of about 1.5 - 2min or something.

Everything else I've grabbed from SNES on down has only taken about 20 - 30 seconds most of the time.

The most recent Official Nintendo magazine (the European version of Nintendo Power) had a one page "Next Month Big Announcement" type of thing with a huge hint. The backdrop of the page was a field of stars that clearly form an image from NIGHTS. Pretty much confirmed at this point. I'm very, very excited.

Saturn games would be kinda cool. I was reading somewhere that the cube special release of Zelda:OOT had like a bonus replay mode or something. Was this extra stuff included in the VC release?

Also anyone heard of any problems with the VC release? I only ask cause I heard someone said the cube edition had some bugs.

My understanding was that the bugs were not caused by the game itself, but by the emulator. So the question is, has the N64 emulator been improved since the 'Cube release?

You do realise that next month IS April right? I'm like you and following this rumor carefully but I'm betting this is still an april fools joke. People can be so cruel :(

What bugs were in the Cube release of Zelda:OOT? I played through it a few years back and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Having said that, I haven't played through the N64 version. Started...but haven't gotten too deep with it.

Most of the rumors point to a new Nights game, not the Saturn game.

I highly doubt the Wii is capable of emulating the Sega Saturn anyways.

I've played Ocarina of Time to death and have never noticed any sound effects just sounding bad in the GameCube emulations.
