My Unique Game Room Item

I have never posted pictures of my gameroom. But....

How many of you have had Atari 2600 Hardware designer Joe Decuir visit your game room!!

My story below........

/////////////////

Some pictures from the interview of Joe Decuir and myself for Evening

Magazine show segment on the re-surgance of classic video games (Photos

courtesy of my buddy Hans from Microsoft). They filmed at my house

because of my large video game console collection. Some may call it a

disease, while other find it fascinating. My wife is very understanding

and my son loves it.

Joe Decuir is one of the hardware designers of the Atari 2600, Atari

Computers and co-designer of the Amiga computers and the programmer of

Combat and Video Olympics (originally designed as technology

demonstrators for the hardware back in '70s using only 2K of code!). One

of the joys was to play Joe in a couple of rounds of Combat on a hi-def

screen. As you can see the graphics are still blocky. The game is just a

funs as ever.

Joe was fascinating and in one shot you will see his surprise that I

have an Atari emulator running on my XBOX 360. He is full of knowledge

and truly an excitable engineer/ technology guru.

The show should air in May sometime.

////////////////////////

I should add that Joe lives not far from me and has been over to my house a couple of times for interviews by KIRO news and has been a guest speaker at the annual NorthWest Classic Videogames Enthusiasts expo NWCGE

Anyways, enjoy the pics of Joe and my "gameloft".

Regards,

-Lee

WoWoW!!! :lust: Love the setup - when can I come by to play?! ;)

Is this a national show, or a local one? If national - please post a reminder if/when you know for sure it's going to be on.

Your room is one way I'd like to do mine - but don't have that much area to work with. Very awesome!!!

Nice! I really like the magazine rack - great idea. And I really should pick up a Vectrex someday.

By the way, Evening Magazine is a locally produced show. As far as I know, they don't syndicate it. Maybe the segment will end up on their video page.

Man... I miss living in Seattle.

Casual interviews = nobody wearing shoes... :D

Nice "Samba" Maracas! Man, that game rocks!

Good friend of mine lives in Seattle, right near green lake - he just finished his PhD in computer engineering, and is working at Starbucks on their new computer system.... He gets free coffee, and lots of it.

is it my imagination or is there a lot of classic gaming in Seattle? Wow! Thanks for sharing Lee, really appreciate it!

Everyone, thanks for the complements. I've been meaning to show my gameloft for a couple of years now. We have had a few local get togethers here and there over the past couple of years. I must also thank Rick Weis for helping me with the construction of it. Alot of sweat equity went into my gameloft project. I still owe him.

There is quite a bit of classic gaming in Seattle. With Nintendo Hqtrs and MS based here (not to far from me I may add), it isn't too hard to see why. I notice there are quite a few Nintendo collectors up this way. As far as no shoes, yep, that is the rule in my house. When it rains as much as it does here, you have to keep your muddy shoes outside.

If you can make it, you should try and attend the annual NorthWest Classsic Games Enthusiasts Expo and the annaul Atari 2600 Championships. Nothing like it anywhere.

Check it out at: http://NWCGE.org

BTW: NorthWest Evening Magazine airs at 7:00 on Channel 5 here in Seattle (King 5 TV). They said they would send me a DVD after it airs in May sometime. Is suspect that it will be less than a 5 minute segment. It will probably appear on the NWCGE website soon after.

:ponder: :? :?

Sacrafices have to be made for the love of my hobbie. As you can see, we can't even afford shoes.

If you like the kitchen, you gotta see my bathroom ;)
