This game is rather frustrating, IMO.

My tip: horde your bullets. The light green guys, without the knives: just whack them over the head with the gun, don't waste bullets on them. If you are careful you can keep the 2nd gun all the way to the end of the first level.

That was my first game. I played 2 more times after that and didn't even get through the 1st level. Beginner's luck I guess.
