What an amazing looking game.
I wonder if it'll play as good as Dragon Riders: Chronicles of Pern on the Dreamcast??

Yup. Looks a lot like Pelennor. Only (I'm assuming) the dragons are the good guys instead of the Nazgul.

Looks like it has been taken directly out of Lord of the Rings. Finally a breakthrough for realtime gfx coming very close to the visual quality of Industrial Light&Magic. The best graphics I have ever seen. :lust:

Panzer Dragoon Orta sold me my first Xbox. Perhaps Lair will sell me a PS3. Must be a dragon thing...

My copy shipped today!! WOOOOO
Snagged it off myfamily for $49.99
I've heard pretty bad pre-reviews based on poor control, apparently a lot of the cotrol is centered around the motion control and not the sticks.....I really hope that they've ironed some of that out or at least gave people the option to choose the sticks. Thats the trouble with these new fangled controllers, the producers are trying them out on games and not giving you the option to use standard, tried and true control. I'm old, I don't always want to be moving my hands all around. Uses up too much of my valuable engery.

I really hope that at some point in the very near future that the PS Store starts getting demo's like XboxLive.

After reading the review on IGN and reading comments on the Official Playstation Lair Forums by people who have purchased and played Lair, I'm reluctant to rush out and plop $60 on it. A lot of bad karma is going on around the game.

For now, I've put Lair on my rental list from GameFly and hopefully can try the game out soon.

Yeah it does seem kinda lame to have the ability to give folks demo's...but don't do it.
I bought it sight unseen just because I got a deal on it and hadn't yet bought one PS3 game (Full retail game anyways)
I've enjoyed games most people hate in the past so I'm keeping a positive attitude about it.

Oh no, not the Wii syndrome on the PS3. :( Well at least Lair isn't a minigame. :P

Too bad there isn't a demo. When I was picking up Warhawk , the salesguy reminded me of Lair but I've had this 'avoid it' kind of feeling about it for a while.

I think it is a great game but the reviewers bashed it because they were too impatient or simply incompentent with the motion controls.
I'll get it to see if it's really so bad. BTW the same reviewers gave Dynasty Gundam a higher score. :ponder: I'm up to the point where I don't care what reviewers say. They are biased fanboys.

There are several demo's in the PS three store. I count 27 so far, alot of them sports titles granted. Not as much as the 360, but the 360 has been around a little longer.

Back on topic. Talk about motion controls go bad, and people complain about the Wii.

So I bought the game on Friday and played through it over the weekened.
Well, I think it is quite a good game. The Sixaxis controls are intuitive and the fighting system has more depht then you will recognize in the 1-2 hours.
The graphics are STUNNING. I have never seen that much of detail in any other video game before. Kudos to Factor 5 for pushing the technical envelope on the PS3.
My only gripe is that it is quite a short game. But I recommend you to try it at least. You might regret passing on Lair.
The game has excellent production values and I can't see any major fault to it. Its sad that this fine game gets ratings as the like of lackluster trash games like Gundam, Spiderman etc. The reviewers must have been out of mind.

I'll probably give it a rental. Simply because motion control games can be iffy and are a matter of preference. Looks like the reviewers were whining that there where no alternative "stick" controls. Seems a game can look great and have crappy controls that make you flap around like an idiot.
