Wow....all I got to say about that.
This game rocks. It is like watching a kick ass movie and having something to do with the outcome.
Anyone else have this/like it?

I personally thought it was too hard. Not enough healing items and there are some areas where the zombies respawn and I HATE that saving system with a passion. In my opinion, the first RE was the best (Sega Saturn version). The others really didn't have much of an impact on me as they deviated too much from what made RE1 so great, but CV at least seems to return back to the series roots (more zombies, less mutants, a mansion, etc.).

The only other RE I had played was the original on the playstation.
I have not gotten to far in the game but it seems great. The save system is murder though.

I loved RE2, but I must admit I played RE:CV for an hour and then took it back. Great atmosphere, wonderful graphics, but after playing RE2 a lot, it just seemed more of exactly the same. I hope there is another way to make these kind of games without just running around flicking switches all the time. I've so far resisted buying RE1 for GC for the same reason, I'll get Eternal Darkness instead.
Silent hill was fun tho, I liked that:)

I bought RE:CV a while ago, but since it doesn't support VGA I haven't had a chance to play it yet.

Yeah I was blown away by RE:CV too.
I got pretty far in the game... But unfortunately never finished it.
I plan to go back and finish that and Omikron if I ever can find the time.
I was a big fan of the original... But man RE:CV was so much more.
Sure it has it's downsides, but if you own a DC and dont have this game you owe it to yourself to pick it up. I think they also released it on PS2 later and it now sells for like $19.99 at Best Buys if you can't find the DC copy.

I just bought off Ebay, and it looks like I won´t be dissapointed when it arrives!
Remember playing Silent Hill on PS1 a few years ago, and call me a wuss, but it was pretty scary...in the winter time up here in the north.

Hehe, no, you're no wuss. Silent Hill WAS scary. Much more so, I feel, than RE. Where RE relied (and still does) on making you jump, Silent Hill just really creeped you out with a VERY unsettling atmosphere.
I remember one bit, I was just walking along a dark corridor, when this ghost of a little girl appeared, silently walked through me and dissapeared - no battle, no big crescendo - just REALLY creepy.

And the sounds! Man you´re hearing some freaky lo-fi hissing and scratching in the left speaker...and ! something grabs you´re leg or whatever. Very unsettling indeed!

The Original RE scared the shit outta me. Me and a buddy would be up late playing and would be like
you open the door, no you, come one do it pussy.
Wew when that dog jumped through the window for the first time I almost got up and ran.

The thing I loved most about the first RE (Sega Saturn version) was the fact that you were TRAPPED in the mansion estate amongst all those zombies. Yes, you were given a little freedom to move beyond, like for example the garden, but you were still on the estate property so to me the mood and tension was more pronounced than any of the later games where you ran through cities, multiple buildings, and even in underwater submarines.
I still remember thinking the first game was over only to find that the game was only just beginning once I hit the upper floors/tower section (the library room where you find the MO disk in that hidden nook) of the mansion.
I played the GC version briefly when I was visiting my brother and it was OK, but they've changed the mansion around too much. I wish they would have left the original game with enhanced graphics and an "arranged" mode of sorts for those who wanted something different.

Exactly the fact that you are locked up in a house adds soooo much to the scare of the game.
It is like you are in prison and your inmates are all flesh craving zombies.
It was good stuff.
