Very interesting to see a new Lynx Game up on Ebay:
Atari Lynx - The Space Incident (Yastuna vol. 2)
Was completely unaware of this being released. Very
impressive. Anyone know if there was a Volume #1?

Wow, things are going very quick on Internet :D .

I released this compilation as freeware on friday, just before the Atari Connexion, but the website is in french only :
http://fadest.free.fr/Yastuna2
Edit : english web page : http://fadest.free.f...a2/indexen.html

This is a freeware, basically, you can download it, play it with Handy, build your own cartridges, and yes, sell them with the packaging you want (like this guy is doing on Ebay), as long as binay is not modified, and as long as included texts (readme.txt, not included in the archive yet, only the french version is) are printed to buyer.

Yes, Yastuna volume 1 exists, in fact, it is not ready yet, there is a textual adventure game included in it, and the english version is currently in translating process.
See more on :
http://fadest.free.fr/Yastuna (same as volume 2, website only in french at this time, english version coming soon).

Basically, volume 2 is more polished and have only 4 games, volume 1 is more root (no music included, mp3 compliant, I prefer to play with my mp3 player music), but there are more than 6 games (officially, 6 games on main menu, and more hidden, informations on how to find them are given in text adventure).

Nice. It looks awesome.

But will it just be available as downlaodable freeware? No plans to make your own "official" carts sometime in the future?

Thanks for the nice comment.

Right, we have no plan to make or sell "official" carts.
The fun for us is in making game.
Manufacturing, packaging, selling is not the funniest part... believe me, I paid a lot in the past with this kind of nightmares :D.

So we think this solution is the best for everyone, we can show our work via emulator. Everyone can appreciate it for free via Handy.
And everybody can make its own cartridge or buy one (there are many manufacturers who are susceptible to build one - so I hope the prices will stay reasonable, even if I have no impact on prices).

Of course, we could have made a deal with a manufacturer for an exclusive official release, but this would have imply not give it as freeware to the community.

In fact, the best solution would be a kind of Lynx card flash ou SD reader... but as far as I know, there is no projects of such harware.

Hehe, that was fast. The box is pretty cool, using the original tintin moon rocket for the cover, which obviously inspired templeton for the graphics :) In my opinion the games are worth having on a real cart, especially space shoot and space lock are really good and the graphics are super nice.

Very cool. I see that the auction cost is already getting high.
I'd be willing to make up a few budget release carts of this
game, for less than $25 shipped. If interested, please PM me.

De rien ;)

Note, for lucky guys owning a PSP or a GP with a Lynx emulator (maybe the DS have one also, I don't know), you can also play it on handheld.

Now as you have released it as freeware perhaps we could bundle it with the next version of the PLynx Handy emulator. I already ported it to Handy 0.95 level but there is still a few bugs left that I have to fix.

Yes please do it.
I haven't translated yet the conditions of use in english (yes, i'm a bit lazy...), but everyone is free to distribute the archive, basically, the only conditions are :
- do not alter the files (executable or text)
- keep included all existing files in archive (executable and text)

Thanks again for all your hard work, Fadest.

I have produced a small batch of these carts.
They start mailing out today. Presently, there
is one single cart unspoken for. Please write
me if you are interested in buying it. Thanks.

I got my cart Friday... it is a great looking cart and the gameplay is great.

If you can grab a cart... I suggest that you do. Especially for the price he's asking.

You can't go wrong.

Thanks you for the kind words ;)

We have been asked if one developper could re-use Templeton graphs into his game.
We decided to put graphs files in freeware, so averyone who need some nice space sprite could use them. There is no restriction on game status (freeware, commercial...) or platform.

You will find Yastuna 2 Graphic Pack on our site : http://fadest.free.f...a2/indexen.html

Sorry for digging up an old thread.. But I was just putting together the box for Yastuna 2 today, and noticed I do not have any "manual" for it.. I know it was sold with a single sheet flyer that could be folded into a folder..?

Do anyone have a link to a user manual in english? (I'm still digging around trying to find the one that came with my cart..)..

I would appreciate any help!

If given the okay, I could scan it for you. But I want do so without permission of the one that produced the game.
