Well, my first ever 1200XL just arrived with the following serial#:

83S DA 009504 103 - Made In U.S.A.

It's in BEAUTIFUL cosmetic condition, but I have yet to plug it in and check it out.

Minor nitpick here, but I just noticed my name was spelled wrong.

Remember, that eBay name protection thingy is active, I think, only when you aren't signed in. In other words, while your eBay name might be "atariguy" it may now show up as "m**y" if you are not signed in.

Clearly that means that "a**r" was really "bob1200xl" :)

Can we message this guy on e-bay and invite him over?

Bob

039405 is his too. So you now own 019879 and are borrowing 039405 ? This gets confusing but it is rather fun.

I remember Bob saying once that he had stacks of them in boxes somewhere too, including some 1400s and 1450s.

I've got one here and its serial number is:

83S DA 024868 213... and made in the U.S.A.! I was surprised to see every
ROM & CPU was socketed. Looks well made and am looking forward to getting
an SIO cable to hook to the SIO2OSX dongle for some Pinball Construction Set
action!

I'm now the proud owner of an Atari 1200XL, made in USA, serial number 83S DA 014466 - 113. I'm living in Chile and got this extremely well kept machine from a collector who brought it from the US a couple of years ago. :)
