I guess what I'm trying to say is: Can you use the PS3 as a "Passthrough" for the PSP so you can play PSP games on a TV like the GC's GBA Player? One thing that has stopped me from picking up a PSP is that I generally don't like to play portables since the screen is so small. That's why I loved my GBA Player for my GC. I know they've been adding all kinds of PSP/PS3 functionality lately, so I wondered if there was anything like this.

There really should be. It would make a whole lot more sense to let the PSP video play on the TV than let the PS3 video play on the PSP.

I agree that there *should* be something like this, but there isn't (at least not from Sony, and not yet). It would be neat to play Wipeout Pure on the big screen.

This is probably the next best thing:

I would prefer a regular controller though.

Well, firmware 5.00 has been decrypted and so far it looks like there may be some type
of feature to allow psp games to show on a t.v.

I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Well it's not through the PS3, but looks like Sony has answered my prayers...

Looks like I might pick up a PSP as soon as the new model is released.

The program caller RemoteJoy supposedly allows you to play PSP games on your PC monitor by using the USB connection on your computer.

I haven't watched that YouTube video or used the program, but it might be worth a look if you've got a PSP with firmware 3.40 OE

Nah, I don't want to jack a PSP into one of my wimpy little computer monitors. 51" HDTV all the way!! :D
