I think that it's a pretty safe bet to say that the PS3 will not be able to really shine until it releases some exlusive titles. The problem I can see is that there is simply no exclusive titles slated for the ps3. Can anyone name some titles that are going to solely come out on the ps3?

Warhawk
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Tekken 6
Time Crisis 4
Lair
Heavenly Sword
Final Fantasy XIII and Versus
Metal Gear Solid 4

As far as I'm aware, all of those titles are slated to be released solely on the PS3.

I totally neglected to even consider Metal Gear. I love the metal gear series. I really wish that Sony could have kept the GTA series as an exclusive, but oh well.

Why does it matter? Having it on multiple systems, just means more people get to enjoy it, doesn't it?

It matters because it means that they might not push the game as hard as they would for the ps3. GTA would be the perfect game to utilize all the space on the blu ray, but take two probably wont make a version of the game that is so different from the one they release on the other consoles. Sure there will probably be a few minor differences, but all in all I think that you end up getting a game that has the same restrictions as the weakest system that it is released on.

Yeah, I'm just itching for a reason to pick up a PS3, but I simply don't have one.

The only reason would be to play my PS1 and PS2 games, as my PS2 is a little flaky at times. But, I don't know if that's enough reason. I'm not even sure the Guitar Hero games work with the PS3?

Some exclusive games would help. Metal Gear would be nice, but Ninja Gaiden Sigma? Is that really exclusive enough? Isn't it just a reworked version of Ninja Gaiden (Xbox) and Ninja Gaiden Black? I mean, I'm sure it looks nicer, but that's not going to convince me.

How the hell did they not get more exlusive titles. was someone at Sony sleeping on the job or something. I have the same exact feeling as you do, I am also dying to get one, but there is more cons then pro. Allow me to list my personal pros and cons.

Pro
Loved the PS2 and feel comfortable with the Sony brand
I like how Sony still makes games for their old systems
Overall a great piece of tech
Love online play and was screwed by Xbox in the past on billing

Cons
Price is way top steep even though it is high tech. Probably will never buy a bluray movie anyway.
Lack of Exclusive titles as mentioned before.
Lack of a Rumble in the controller (kind of like a downgrade from last gen)
Uncertain future- Being that sales are not great I am afraid of getting stuck with an expensive dud.
HD cables not included= Sony trying to fucking nickel and dime people over a 600.00 system's cables.

For all of this I just cannot decide. Also there is the talk of a price drop that has me hanging out in next gen limbo trying to see what will happen.

Yeah, so can the Guitar Hero games be played on a PS3? If they can, I may just go ahead and get one for the hell of it.

The only thing that doesn't work from the last time I tried it a few weeks ago is the whammy bar. Hopefully they will fix that soon, if they haven't already.
