Hey PMP,

Would it be possible for you to utilize your remarkable hacking skills to hack a version of Pac-Man Championship Edition for the 7800? Or something like it? :lust:

Hey Greg:

I guess I could try... (Thanks for the compliment, by the way) :)

The one thing I would need to find out are the exact differences (other than the maze being widescreen) between that and the standard Pac-Man... That would get me closer to knowing whether or not I could do it... I'll try to find out.

Thanks again,
Bob

PMCE is a freakin great game. It would be interesting to see if a variation of it would be possible on a classic system. The changing mazes and never ending gameplay (ie the level never ends) make it very frantic to play.

If this can be done on the 2600 (even vertically) I think I'd jizz :P I think the standard 5 minute time attack would make a great translation on a classic system. The truth is, you can take off all the visual bells and whistles off the xbox live version and have a totally playable game. Like I can see it being played just fine with the original arcade pacman look. It really does stand on it's own even stripped down to it's essentials.

p.s. It's been a while but a couple weeks ago I was like #32 or something in the xblive score charts for this game. I'm sure that's changed since then though

I think it's more likely for a Zola/Championship Edition version of Ms. Pac-man for the 7800. Yes, there's ROMs for that game out there.

I'm pretty sure most of them are playable in Pacmame... Which, by the way, also has those cool arcade hacks that were made to look like the 2600 versions

No. Pacman Championship Edition is a new title on Xbox Live.

Pacmame runs old Pacman arcade game variants and their hacks.

Looks like someone made it for the NES already. I think Bob could make it even better on the 7800.

That nes version is pretty cool, although the monsters seem to move a bit slow when blue.

WOW! I wish I could get that NES version. Since I don't have an XBox 360 I have been envious of people who get to play Championship Edition.

i don't know if this is possible for the 7800..

working on a pc version is tough, but i
have all the resources... you can get
them converted from the mobile versions
(ios, android, java etc)...

the game logic is simple, but can get a little tricky
later on... the ghost ai is not that clever, and
the gameplay is more about speed, and a time
limit...

i don't know about programming for atari systems,
but a friend and i have been porting a lot of arcade
games using the gamemaker program for pc's..

i have a 360 and play this on there.. and on my
cellphone, but this game needs to be on other
systems, and platforms..

later
