When they used to show Starcade constantly on G4 tv, there was always a huge flood of them on Usenet as people captured and ripped them. It's too bad G4 stopped showing that show.. you figure that's one thing they outta at least keep for late night showings or something.

I often wondered if the host of Starcade hated videogames or had no opinions about them and he was just doing his job and was acting somewhat thrilled about how the contestants were playing?

Who know he might of been a huge video game junkie! Just something to think about. :)

Well Ya had 4 hosts according to the Link above
Mike Eruzione
Mark Richards

1st two Ive never heard of But these two I have

Geoff Edwards Hosted Treasure Hunt, and Jackpot
Alex Trebeck Host of High Rollers, Classic Concentration and a little game Called Jeopardy

They seemed to just do the motions not sure if they really liked games at that point or not

The few episodes they have really take me back to a simpler time in life wish more episodes were available to watch
I wonder how many of the winners still have their arcade cabs they won

I couldn't stand Geoff Edwards. It was made very clear to me while I was watching someone play a game once that you STFU when someone's playing. Geoff Edwards would go bats#!t while someone was playing...I always preferred Mark Summers. Didn't know that they ever had other hosts! Especially Alex Trebek!

I bought the DVD and Starcade T-Shirt a few years ago. I'm suprised how many people remember this show.

I used to drool when people would play for their very own arcade game. I wanted a Gorf cabinet SO bad back then. (Still do as a matter of fact). :)

Thread back from the dead. |:)

I was going to post a topic about this show, but a quick search proved there are already many discussions about it. This one seemed like it was as good as any to post in, so here we are.

Anywho, I stumbled upon this site a few years ago, though I can't remember now how I did. I don't think the show aired in my area, so I had never seen it before. I really enjoy watching these episodes, as they're all new to me. There are a lot of games I honestly don't even remember back then, so it's awesome to discover them for the first time after all these years. One of them is Juno First, for example, which since I first saw it on Starcade has been made into a homebrew. Now it's one of my favorite 2600 games to play.

When I first started watching these online, there were only around 15 episodes, but they've put up many more since. I'm still loving watching it and hope they continue to upload more episodes, and release more on DVD.

One thing that stands out to me is the theme song. It's so '80s cheesy, but I can't help it getting stuck in my head, with those goofy bongo drums and all. So great. haha

So what do more of y'all think of the show? Do you still enjoy watching it?

**** yeah! That show kicks butt...the kids and I watched every episode online this summer. They need to add the rest of them.

I have the theme song loaded on my arcade cabinet.

Awesome! Yeah, I dl'ed the song too. Hopefully one day I'll have a nice gameroom, and I'll have the song featured on the jukebox playlist. :D
