The Gamegear doesn't come in a Pal or NTSC format.

The GameGear is a global handheld in that all GG games work in all GG units.

So in other words any GameGear is all you need.

Really!!
I thought it might be a global sort of thing...i just never bothered to ask seeing there's the Genesis/Megadrive, CDX/MegaCD etc.
Thanks for that...it does make my search easier

To my knowledge, there's no handheld that has region problems. As the NTSC,PAL thing denotes difference in TV standards - and as handhelds don't use a TV screen, there should never be a problem.

A thought though, if you plug an american TV tuner into an English gamegear, will it act as an NTSC recieving television?
And what about Master system carts through the converter? Are they gonna be region specific?

Only in U.S Toys R' Us stores. And they sell like damn hotcakes. It took me a couple of weeks to get a hold of mine.

Do you reckon the US TOY R' US would send a couple of those re-released Gamegears over to Australia??
What price are they going for anyway??

I doubt it, I tried to order from them and they don't ship internationally.
I think the reason is that they're a pack of bastards.

Yes, they do sell brand new Game Gears at AMES Department stores for $29.94. I bought mine there about 4 months ago. They also have a few games, but, the games cost $19.99 when they are not on sale.

While we are at this...Toys R' Us also has some of the games...They sell them here locally for 9.97 each.

That is how I got my super Battletank. Impressive to look at...but not much in the way of a challenge..at is was beaten in one sitting my first time through.

Still...having a portable Sonic on the go rox!
