What?!?! No Half Life 2 fans in here?

Hey Al! Here's your chance to play the game plus Epi 1&2 without having to deal with steam.

It just came out and the best part is NO STEAM!!

My 360 isn't permanently connected to Live, so i can't really play the Team Fortress 2. But i've been wondering if this would be worth getting for Portal and the Half-Life games...

Yeah, but unfortunately I already paid $50 for HL2 that I was never able to play, return or resell so I'm not terribly inclined to give Valve any more of my money..

Got it for the PC. I just finished Portal. It's awesome. Some people say it's too short, but that's what the mod scene is for.

How many disks is the game? Only reason I ask is because I had the game on the top of my list at GameFly and they Emailed me that they are shipping the game out to me.

Hopefully, the game will live up to my expectations and if so, I'll use the "Keep It" option with GameFly and end up saving $20+ over buying it in the store.

Well you could always pick up the original xbox version at Circuit City. They've been selling it for like $10 bucks or so. It's one of the few 360 "backwards compatible" titles.

It and 384 other titles. You have a odd interpretation of the word "few" :P

I'm pretty excited about this one. I have never played a Half-Life game, but I have heard people raving about them.

I'm pretty sure that Valve has added or changed a few things around. I've played Half-Life 2 at least three times already and I'm noticing stuff that I know did not occur in the previous incarnations.

I saw a commercial for this, and all I could get from it was, your some sort of freak with a machinegun, shooting holse in walls and fighting weird spiderbots fo some kind. But no clue what the actual object of the game was supposed to be or anything.

From th sound of it though, it's just half life. So...no, I'll never think about pickign kit up again, even without any real explinations in the videos as to what it actually is. The first halflife wasn't that great to beghin with, and my god...the loading...the horror. I mean, people say it was an X hour game, sure, but three quarters of that was waiting for the next section to load.

That is definitely your loss because HL2 was fantastic. It was one of the best games on XBox without a doubt. The addition of Portal makes this decision clear.

Wonder if Portals will ever be released as an individual game, or if it's strictly going to be part of The Orange Box package.

Anywho, I must say, it does look interesting and fun.

I just picked it up. man, I forgot how much fun HL2 was. Great stuff, and it looks much better on the 360 than the Xbox. All of the other content is great too. The 360 is really turning into a powerhouse in the games department.

I had a hard time figuring out exactly what was in this package, oh well as long as it has a decent amount of new content I'll be happy. I enjoyed HL2 so any expansions on that would be fine, hopefully there will be more vehicle missions.

It comes with

Half Life 2
Episode I
Episode II
Portal
Team Fortress 2 (which is pretty much live and system link only).

The game is still a blast, even on my fourth run thru.

Are Ep.1 & 2 substantial? Will I get a couple days out of them or is something you can blow thru? Are these just bonus levels or are they sequels?

The continue the story where HL2 left off. I haven't played them yet but I believe it is a substantial amount of content.

Even according to them, Episode One is only 4-6 hours. Don't know if "I, personaly" would call that "substantial".

But there are two episodes there. The standard shooter probably consists of 10 hours of gameplay if that. Serious Sam on XBox took me 13 hours and I remember thinking it was a long shooter (XBox version included Episode 1 and 2.) Put the two episodes together and you have a standard shooter plus HL2 in all it's glory, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. You are getting a lot of content in that box.

Episode I is supposed to be pretty short, but Epi II is a bit longer. Combined they probably come out pretty ok. I'd rather not say more till I actually play them myself. I have not tried them cause I didn't want to have to bother with steam on my pc.

I really wish they'd do some type of Half-Life 1 port with the two add-ons. Blue Shift and Opposing Force and maybe the PS2 two player stuff. I've finished one a few times and played partially thru the addons, but that is about it. Probably would make a good Live game to slap out there.
