Here is the rundown of the rules for the Colecovision HSC:
(last update 05-22-2010 by Mister VCS)

-Every other Wednesday Saturday (exceptions are noted) at 1:00 A.M. Eastern, a new game will be chosen and the previous weeks game will end.
-To join the club, just post a score!
-To request a game, please send me or Mister VCS a PM stating what game you would like to play and at what skill setting.
-Emulators are allowed for those games that you don't own.
-Screenshots of your score are not necessary (exception: some "Patch Challenges" and the "Quick-Start-Bonus") but are encouraged for higher scores.
-Post your scores in the thread of the actual game.

-Use the same skill level as posted so that all scores will be accurate.

-Unless noted in the thread you do not have to continue playing after you roll a score unless you choose to. Everyone who rolls the score will be tied for first place. Exceptions may aply but will be stated on that weeks HSC thread.

The point distribution for high scores (starting with season 3) is here:

Point distribution for high scores (starting with season 4): Please read "Post #2"!

Some contest include a "Patch Challenge" - in that case you can earn bonus points as posted.

old point distribution for high scores (season 1 and 2):

1st place=11 points
2nd place=10 points
3rd place=9 points
4th place=8 points
5th place=7 points
6th place=6 points
7th place=5 points
8th place=4 points
9th place=3 points
10th place=2 points
11th place and on=1 point

-If a tie should occur then the aloted amount of points will be given to each player for the position that they are tied in. The scoring will then change to accommodate the top 10 players (or more depending on how many are tied). {EXAMPLE} If three people should tie for 1st place then each will recieve 11 points, 2nd place will recieve 8 points, 3rd will get 7 points.....

The Colecovision HSC is just for fun and bragging rights. Please do not cheat or use bugs in the game to your advantage. If you are suspected of cheating in any way your score will be removed from the HSC.

If you have any question or comments please send a PM to theking21083 or Mister VCS and we will respond ASAP.

Please note the changes for season 4:

- Scoring system:

1st place = 10 points
2nd place = 9 points
3rd place = 8 points
4th place = 6 points
5th place = 4 points
6th place = 2 points

7th place and on = 1 point

- Quick-Start-Bonus:

If you post your high-score during the first 3 days after a round starts (Saturday - Monday), and this score is still under the "top-three" at the end of the round (usually after two weeks), then you will earn the following bonus:

1st place: 3 bonus points
2nd place: 2 bonus points
3rd place: 1 bonus point

Screenshot required for the bonus! (If you post another score after the 3 days, then we need no screenshot)
AtariAge "board-time"

- We start the rounds on
Saturdays

- There is no "Ironman-Bonus" at the end of the season

- The
"Patch Challenge" is called "Challenge"

- We play a few "hombrew-titles" from time to time!
(as a result of the "hombrew-poll")

Feel free to comment the new regulations!

I have a question regarding the Quick-Start-Bonus.

Let say you score 150,350 points in the first 3 days of the round and nobody else got a better score than that during the 2 weeks the round lasted except you.
Let say you got a better score on the last day of the round, do you still get the 3 points since nobody else got a better score than the first one you posted?

Thanks.

Yes, your interpretation is correct. If the score you posted within the first three days would place you in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place at the end of the round, irrespective of you later beating your OWN score, then the quick start bonus is applied.

Note that once I have moderator access I plan on starting each round 1 day earlier and extending the quick start period to four days. This will allow anyone on a long weekend an opportunity to use their entire long weekend to get the quick start bonus. This will only be implemented once I can access the HSC forum as moderator and it will not be retrospective.
